Hi Ladies,
I have not had a period in 70 days - this is the longest I have gone, by far. On top of that, I seem to have an abundance of cervical mucus and cramps, and a backache. And, to make matters worse, I have a terrible hemorrhoid/itching that is making me nuts. I am 47. I am hoping someone will be able to relate to this, and maybe offer some words of wisdom. I think the moisture from the cervical mucus is exasperating the uncomfortableness from the hemorrhoid. I just wish I would get my period - then I think I'd feel much better.

Not sure how much I can help because the longest I have gone without a period is around 40 days. When you say you are having a lot of cervical mucus, is this different from anything you have had before? Perhaps you should see your doc because maybe you have some kind of infection that is not even related to peri. I just think that is always a good policy when something changes.
I cannot say when all of this will end as everyone is different. With each day that goes by I am hopeful I will never see my flow again, but it always seems to come.
Hopefully someone else can pipe in here and tell you more.

You're not alone and it probably is a phantom period you are experiencing. I haven't had a period in over 9 months now and every few months I'll have the symptoms I typically will get in regards to a period and then it goes away. My gyn informed me that if I experience cramps that are intolerable, yet no bleeding, that I am to come in for an ultrasound to be sure that fluid isn't building up in my uterus. Otherwise, I just treat the symptoms as I would if I was experiencing a regular period. I just take a pain reliever and wait it out.

I have the same exact thing everytime I skip a period. I have gone 90 days and continue to get the cervial mucus and cramps. The cramps are worse than if I actually got a period. Eventually I get a period and I am fine until I skip again. I feel horrible when this happens. Nights sweats always return when I skip, too. Hopefully it will all go away forever, soon!

I've had similar symptoms. I am 58 days now without a period, and sometimes I do get somewhat of a discharge down below, but nothing that has seemed out of the ordinary - yet.
Also, I do get cramping, occasionally - on and off, and I'll think that my period is coming. But nope, not yet.
I just wish it would never come back, leave me alone, but WITHOUT symptoms! I think we all deserve that much, being that we've put up with the discomfort and mess for so many years (38+ for me).

I just suffered the same symptoms last week: bloating, cramping, constipation, exhaustion... Right before my period was due. It has not appeared so far, and the symptoms have gone away. I think I may have experienced my first phantom period. Yippee. At age 56, it's about time.

Hang in everyone. I will if you all will.

I think I am having a phantom period now! Feeling crampy the last few days. I had been pretty regular until this year. Missed a period in March and April. Now this. Hanging in there with all of you, too!! Pam

Hi I am 53 days without a first time period and hope it is the beg. of the end because I am almost 55years old. Now I will say about the Hemmoroid I have had these and they are doozy's try either some Calendula ointment or TUCKS ointment it really works or use both if you need to alternating.
Hope you feel better ,
God bless you

I went 74 days earlier in the year without a period (my record) and the same thing happened! The mucus long & stringy and so much of it plus I had horrid cramps too! Bloating! Kept hoping I would start!
Makes me wonder how it will be when I stop for good!

I am on Day 66--a record for me!--without a period. But I do not have the cramps, etc. I actually feel pretty good..although I have slightly sore breasts, especially left..but I'm thinking that's more of a muscle thing, since I've been moving and lifting things. My worse symptom is my one-sided leg/lower back pain! Ouch!
And...I've been having MANY more hot flashes/night sweats as a result of no period in so long. ALTHO...it may be my imagination but I think they have eased up. I'm not tossing and throwing off the covers at night as much as I did 2 weeks ago? Which really makes me worry that maybe a period is looming?? I just want it to go away! I just turned 54!!!!!!!! GO AWAY!!!!!!!!! haha

I had not thought about the phantom period but it makes sense. About the hot flashes: I had TERRIBLE hot flashes a month or so ago for a couple weeks. Then they just went away. I haven't had a hot flash in about 2-3 weeks. I've been able to sleep in my flannel nightie again, which I am so happy about! :-) I just don't get why I had them in such full force, and then, nothing.

Hi
Fellow sufferers
I am 51, and haven't had a period since December 2007. So over six months now.
I have so many mental issues (depression/anxiety mostly depression)
I have been on AD'S (anti depressants) for over 18 years, and now i'm not on any, for
about three months now.
My doctor (cos i asked) gave me some samples of premarin, and i haven't started them yet.
I KNOW they have horse urine in them, but when we eat bacon, that's not much better what were putting
in our bodies lol...........
no seriously, the chin hairs are so fun. I'd look like Coloniel Sanders if i didn't wax or shave them weekly.
Nipple hairs, nice..............nose hairs too. Sometimes when i'm putting my makeup on with a strong magnifing
mirror, i scare myself silly with the growing thick nosehairs. I used to be a registered dental/oral surgery assistant,
and i remember when i would be assisting in a root canal, i would always stare up into peoples noses, (don't ask me why)
and think ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww why don't they groom themselves better? yucky
I NEVER thought i'd not be sailing smoothly throught life.
This is so not fun.

Hi,
Ok, I'm on Day 77, with no period in sight. This is the longest I've ever gone. I think I skipped a month last year....and then Feb of this year...but now I've skipped April/May and looks like June? I feel slightly bloated, SORE ALL OVER (though I walked and worked out this week which I haven't done in ages which would explain that!), my left hip/leg has been aching on and off for a year (doctor says arthritis/tendonitis) but it seems worse when I have no period! I almost wish one would start, but not YET as I've made my gyn appt for my annual exam next week! Of course it will start the night before

I did think I might have ovulated a couple of weeks ago...?? but maybe not??
So where are the rest of you in this process...the ones who have now skipped ALOT of days? I just turned 54 this spring. ITS ABOUT TIME!!

Hi - I am the original poster of this thread.
I finally got my period at 72 days. We were in Canada for the weekend with friends (of course) and I got it that Saturday. I had been having PMS symptoms for about 2 weeks prior to this, but when it arrived, I was surprised.
Because I had skipped 2 months, I was expecting the flood gates to open, but it was, in every way, totally "normal" for me.

Hi, again! I am 70 days now without a period. Other than some nipple soreness, I haven't had any other symptoms. Well, I did have a very, VERY slight (almost not-noticeable) pink tint to my discharge the other day - so, I thought my period might be coming. Nope. Nothing. And, I keep waiting for the hot flashes to pound me, but they haven't come - yet.
I'm supposed to see my gyn in Sept., for my regular exam - but I might go in before then, if I start panicking over all of this.

Hi mom2rudy,
So did you feel more "normal" after it started after skipping 2 months? That's what I'm hoping here. Seems my joints ache more the longer I go without a period. Good for you about "no flood gates opening"...I hope its the same for me if it does indeed start! I just feel like a fat lazy slug right now...even though I just walked 1 1/2 miles at the gym this afternoon! Of course when I'm walking, I feel just "fine"
