Well, here's a new one for me. It's my period week (low estrogen) and have been having daily palpitations and extremely tired. I had to lie down late yesterday from extreme fatigue. The phone rang, and when I got up, I had no balance and fell over, knocking things over. I went to sleep at 8pm because I was so tired. When I got up this morning, I had no balance again and had to steady myself against the wall. My right ear feels sort of blocked, so I'm chalking this up to another funky Peri symptom.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I feel like hell and am staggering through the week, hard to focus.

Hey L2...yes, except I call it the drunk stagger. If you have any Sudafed etc (the behind the counter stuff, not the weak knee'd kind), take one of those. I found it helps alot since it relieves the swelling of the nasal/ear passages...

As far back as I can remember I've always been clumsy right before my period. I called it my first alert. I drop things, stumble, trip... I thought everyone experienced this till I told my mom and she thought I should tell my doctor. (I didn't though.) It usually passed within a couple of days.

OMG!!! I found this topic and had to comment. I have these feelings too and just thought it was anxiety. After reading what ya'll said, I realized that my mom mentioned something about this. When she turned 40, she claims that she became a "klutz" and she also claims that when she turned 50 it stopped. I had no idea that this might be caused by peri. Wow, I dont feel nearly as bad about this nor as frightened about it as I did 10 minutes ago!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ya'll.

Hey Ladies....YES, I had this too!! This was back before I had found PS and I didn't know all the symptoms of peri! It got progressively worse the further into peri I got. I often had to grab a hold of a counter or lean against a wall cuz I was afraid of falling over. I never actually did fall down, but man, I sure felt like I was going to. Then add to that the dizziness which became my constant companion, and the disconnected from reality feeling....that floating above your self feeling (thus the name Floater) you start to see how awful it can be for some of us.

I don't get it anymore, and don't miss it one bit!! It will pass. But the waiting can be awful.

Thank you all so much! Really helps to hear that others get this.. and that I'm not completely losing it. It's been damp and foggy lately which made me think maybe it's a barometric thing? should i move to a warm dry climate? Where in the world can i go to be free of Peri?! What can I eat or not eat, take or not take, do or not do, to feel better?? sigh. just venting. thank you again for your replies.

dizzioness has been one of my most dibilitating(sp) symptom.

2 years ago I had the same thing happen...was on day 4 or so of my period and woke up at 6ish and went to get out of bed...stood up and could stand up...I literally crawed around for about 1/2 hr until I went tot he er. The room was spinning, I couldn't find my balance and have never had balance problems before this, I had a residual woozy feeling for a few days and it was gone only to be the beginning of my dizzy woes.
