i've noticed, that since all this VERY INTENSE peri stuff has set in (the reason, i say, VERY INTENSE, is because i want to distinguish it from the lesser symptoms of peri, which i DID have a couple of years prior, but never connected the dots, i never realized that those "minor" symptoms were peri) .. which was about a year and a half ago now ..... that the whites of my eyes, are not so "white" anymore. I don't mean anything alarming, i just mean, they don't seem AS white anymore, the white part of my eyes, used to be VERY white, now, they aren't. The blue color of my eyes, is still the same. But the white area, seem to have lost its "luster" so to speak.

I wonder what that is. Does anyone else have that?

OH..one more thing,....I feel as though I'm HOT all the time now, yep...all the time (well, i guess there are moments when I dont') .... I keep running around, taking my temp. and it's always within the normal range, it's as though, someone has reset my inner temp. sensitivity. So, i constantly feel HOT, or, cold...yet I'm not! I used to get this HOT feeling all over my body, and it would last the whole day and then go...i have since learned that was a type of hot "flash". This is pretty much the same, except it seems t be lasting, day after day...lol ...

well, that's it FOR NOW, probably until tomorrow! wink.gif lol

i'm going to write down all my symptoms since i started this peri insanity, I think I actually have had symptoms that are not on the 64 list ....

LOL mydarling you really are rather witty at times..... Now about the whites of your eyes thing, maybe it's just a natural progression of aging. I notice that older people don't have that youthful sparkle to their eyes no matter how healthy or unhealthy they are (I notice these things as I work very closely with peoples heads). My mother is the picture of good health (lucky woman) and her eyes don't look particularly bright and lustrious like they probably used to. It's just like the rest of our bodies heading south so to speak, our skin is never as good, the colour of our hair fades, everything sags and the list goes on......it's called getting old sad.gif ....... waaahhhhhhhh biggrin.gif

And by the way anxiety can make you hot ALOT too, are you by any chance anxious unsure.gif laugh.gif tongue.gif and hot flashes manifest themselves in many ways. My doctor told me the general hot feeling over my body is more likely to be anxiety related and the hot feeling that creeps up from my chest to my face is more likely a genuine hormonal hot flash. One thing I have learned on this site and from my own hormonal journey is that no 2 women are exactly the same in the way they go through this and there is no textbook right or wrong way to do anything in meno.

Have a lovely day and stop looking in that mirror as it lies to us everytime, I'm sure they distort the glass nowadays to make us look fatter, wrinklier and older than we actually are laugh.gif

I was just noticing the same thing a few days ago. I thought is this a symptom too? And at times they see a little pink then it goes away. But mostly I notice that they are just not that white. I'm 47 and I was thinking the same thing maybe its just my eyes are getting old??? Or is it a symptom. So funny you posted that same thing.

Corky and mydarling,
How are you sleeping? I notice that when I don't sleep well my eyes look dull. When I get six or seven hours of uninterrupted sleep (a blessing!) my eyes are sparkly and bright.

Hi,
I read an article somewhere about the eyes looking duller. I noticed the whites of my eyes are nowhere near as white as they used to be. According to what I read, it's just the natural aging process. When my eyes look really dull or red, I use eyedrops. I think they look a little better after I use it. I am 46, my eyes have been looking duller for at least one year.

hi girls,

yes, this lack of really nice whiteness in the eyes, isn't new to me either, it actually started about a year and a half ago, (maybe 2 yrs. now, SLOWLY), but I keep noticing it. What's strange is that some days, it's better, and other days, it's worse.
As far as the sleep goes, HA! once and a while i get good sleep! OH PLEASE! I toss and turn all night, go from dream to dream, (BAD dreams too, i might add), & depending on whether or not the bladder thing is starting i may get up a few times during the night to "go", I don't go to bed the same time everynight, I CAN'T! I've tried that approach, it didn't work, I either just laid there, WIDE AWAKE, (which wasn't good either, bec. it gave me time to THINK about all the things that get me nervous!..lol), so i'd get up anyway ..... what I end up doing, is going to bed when I'm tired. WHICH COULD BE ANYTIME, nowadays! So, ok, maybe that has something to do with it too....there are days, it DOES look like i've lost sleep. But, see, that's the thing, there are also days, when i can get better sleep, and it still looks that way,...then, there are days, where i've had lousy sleep again, and i look better! GO FIGURE! Now remember here though, I said i've had this for about 2 years, so, 2 yrs. ago, and before, i wasn't in this peri HE**! and yet, i STILL noticed it. But since peri really began to kick my rear, which was about a year and a half ago or so, then i really noticed it! ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE! mad.gif

I don't know, maybe it is just getting older, which, i just can't give in to!..lol...afterall, I'm ONLY 29!.... laugh.gif

I have noticed the dull eye thing too. I was thinking the same as ya'll, must be aging (eeewww) and I certainly have a lack of sleep. I flop around like a fish out of water half the night and the other half I am in the bathroom. When I get up in the morning and look in the mirror - I swear there is a demon in there looking back at me with those red streaked, puffy, black instead of white eyes!!!!

I guess I should count my lucky stars that they are not yellow or orange or something equally scary.

I too have definitely noticed that the whites of my eyes are not as white now. I am sure it is to do with the crashing down of oestrogen levels. I am three and a half years past my last period and my eyes are more dry and eyesight not as good. I think oestrogen keeps so many things working better. Personally, I felt as if I aged so much when the menopausal symptoms kicked in big time which wasn't really till my periods packed up. I am now fifty-three. Everything is a lot drier.

Best Wishes

Just this morning I noticed that my eyes don't seem as bright and white as they used to. Then, this evening I read this thread and couldn't believe the coincidence! Being here on PS is like being among many sisters, isn't it? The things that we make think are insignificant or trivial (or even in our imagination) are shared by so many!

hi guys,
When people feel rotten, in pain under stress etc etc etc the eyes always seem to reflect it, and lets face it we all on here feel pretty lousy most of the time maybe thats why the eyes lose their sparkle, no inner sparkle, no outer sparkle. Just a thought.
Sara714
I have the eye thing going on too. I have for some time. I don't even like to wear eye make up anymore less I draw more attention to them.

My eyes are so bloodshot all the time, it's enough to scare children and have adults think I have a constant hangover!

Actually, me eyes are very small and deep set, that you really can't see what color they are.

I think sleeplessness has something to do with it. I wear contact lenses, so I look at my eyeballs a lot... I notice whenever their red and sometimes I've noticed they're not as white as usual too. But then, some days they're so white!! I'll have to notice if after a particular sleepless night if they're not as white. I'm always worried they'll have a yellow tint. Now that's trouble!! A physician told my mom he can tell particular illnesses right away by looking into his patient's eyes.

Aren't eyes a window to our soul...??? What does that mean??? What if they're a window for our soul... Okay, I digress...

If they were, then my eyes would be the color of insanity, whatever that is.

You're welcome!

Sometimes I think I should do stand up comedy, if I didn't have paralyzing stage fright, fear of public speaking and agorophobia.
When I'm in the right mood, I see the humor in everything, so I might as well share a laugh than keep it inside my head.
