Well, after responding very well to acupuncture and chinese herbs for hot flashes and night sweats, (I went MONTHS without a single episode), now they're back and back with a vengeance! I am making an appointment with my acupunturist right away, hoping I will respond as I did in the past. Now, here's something NEW that I need some info/support on. I notice that I have a tingling/strange sensation on my lips and tongue. I'm associating with my hot flashes as they started at about the same time. BUT, the tingling does not go away -it's there pretty much all the time. My mouth/jaw/gums also feel sore/odd. Not like a toothache or TMJ - but yet my teeth have a "hurt" feeling to them overall. Again, this doesn't leave. It's not painful like a toothache - it's more of just a strange awareness/odd sensation - hard to describe. Has anyone ever had anything like this? I am sure it's not a dental problem - I have good teeth and good dental care, etc. But my teeth/gums/mouth feel funny. This is on top of my tingling like tongue and mouth. Mercy! Am I alone in this or has anyone ever had any of these things? I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and it will be gone. It's been a week now and it's about the same. Thanks in advance for your responses. kathleent

Hi Kathleent,
I have a tingling in my mouth at times, and occasionally my partial is too tight. It feels like my gums are swollen. I just think it's another "symptom". This can happen for weeks, then nothing, like it never happened. I had it all checked and nothing was ever found. I felt like you, that it wasn't a dental problem.

I can relate. I get this tingling numbness on the end of my tongue. It comes and goes, but when it comes it stays for a few days.
About hot flashes returning.....I hadn't had a flash in about 6 weeks, and now I've 9 in the last 48 hours. They're intense but they don't last long -- just a couple of minutes. What is going on? What set them off? That's the most I've ever had in that short a period of time. This just gets more fun every day, doesn't it?
