now, this morning, other than feeling like pure **** (like my other post below) i woke up, feeling really weird, very detached, and strange! Plus, i started to get "chills" last night, while on my computer.... they weren't severe, not teeth chattering chills , but this "chilled" feeling .... every now and then, a shiver would run up my spine, and I'd feel this chill ... then, i noticed, that i was feeling these "chills" a bit more, so i went to bed, and even though the air cond. is on, and it's fairly cool in here, i had to have the little hair dryer on, facing me, so i would feel warm, bec. i felt "chilled" .... this is nuts. Now, this morning, when i woke up, other than feeling really spaced out and detached.....i had these weirdo sensations in both my arms and hands, hard to describe, .... almost as if i could feel the blood circulating QUICKLY through my hands, they felt warm and strange.....but, i still have these "chills"...or at least the feeling of it. I took my temp. and it went anywhere from 97.5, then, 97.3, then 97.0....then back up to 97.5, then 97.7 .. geez! So, I don't know ..... I've had a temp. range before, in the 97's ... and now, a few hrs. later, it's 97.8 ...so, i guess it's stabalizing.....but geez, what the heck? I also feel a little queasy, and "sickly" i guess.

I know that chills are part of peri, i've actaully had them before, but not with all this! i also seem to be dealing with some kind of ear thingy and sore throat, on and off ....UGH!!!!!!!

LOL...i keep forgetting things I had wanted to say ... ok, this month, my period was 13 days late, i finally got it, and am in the 5th day....it is now only spotting, but there. That is the second month in a row it was that late. So, maybe all this has soemthng to do with that! Also, i can feel as though my gums feel weird, sensitive. ... and i feel some kind of small pressure on both sides of the nose (sinus area) .. i also feel VERY SHAKEY...THAT was a symptom i got in the beginning of peri.....VERY SHAKEY. I feel so weak......gosh, i wonder if all of this is hormonal.

mydarling.

I have chills as you describe all the time. Ever since I started with peri symptoms almost a year ago. I've never had a hot flash that I am aware of but I think some women have chills instead of hot flushes. that's what I'm putting it down to anyway - unless I have a underactive thyroid.........who knows!!

I think my Dr told me it is the cortosoil (?) hormone that throws our body temp out of whack. Thank God I haven't had it in a few months now, but I would spend a good 3 or 4 days before my period chilled to the bone feeling like I was coming down with a flu. I HATE the cold flashes. I can really sympathise!!!

I have the gum thing that you mention. My mouth feels like a Russian army walked through it even immediately after brushing. I also have the strange tenderness in places and funny tastes in my mouth. I hate it!!!

Oh, stitchnanny, I've had funny tastes in my mouth, too. Sometimes food even tastes different . . .

ladies, thank you all for responding!!!!! oh gosh, this is far out! i need to know, when any of you get these "chills", do they just hit suddenly, or slowly build up? and how long do they last? the reason i'm asking is bec. with me.....over the last few months, i've had "chills" ONCE AND A WHILE, hardly ever, and when they'd come, no big deal, maybe it would last say, a few minutes of so. ...... as of the LAST FEW DAYS, when my body decided to do a full revolt apparently, the "chills" have been really bad! So, what happens now, is that, I just sort of feel CHILLED all the time, on and off....it changed. I don't always feel "cold" either, i mean, sometimes, it almost seems like i get the SHAKES, which is different from "chills" .....

does anyone here get the SHAKES? Just SHAKES? this is new for me. And this "chill" thing is for the birds, i noticed that some of you had said, you end up putting on jackets and such, ok, so i'm assuming the feeling of having a "chill" then, must last for a while, am i right? That would be like myself, then, in that case. This chill feeling, doesn't just come and go quickly, it can last all day, and into the night, on and off.......IS THAT NORMAL?

ladies............thank you all for your support and encouragement!!!!!! HUGS!!!

Hi, mydarling. I've always been cold-natured and so suseptible to chilly weather, etc., that it's hard for me to tell whether or not that's increased. No shakes, though - YET. I always have to say "yet," because any of these symptoms could hit me, at any time.

Your temperature is pretty low, you should have your dr. check your thyroid for sure. A low dose (armour) thyroid med might do wonders, but ask your doctor. Good luck!!
