A very good friend of mine who is 66 has confided in me recently. She has always been fairly happily married but gave up having sex with her husband about 15 years ago because she found it painful. Over the past couple of years she has mentioned to me that she would like to try again with her husband but he always refuses as he is afraid of hurting her. She has now said that he has lost all interest in giving her any affection of any kind. She is shocked to find that her sex drive has returned very strongly and is using estrogen pessaries to sort herself out. I know this site is not for marriage counselling but I am just interested to know if it is common for a woman's sex drive to return after so many years. I am wondering if she is not confusing it with the need for affection? I am not suggesting that older women do not enjoy sex but she has suddenly become almost obsessed after having no interest for so long. There could not be any medical cause for it like something wrong with her ovaries could there?
Anybody have any knowledge about this?

I'm 10 months with no period which "almost" meno and my sex drive is back. I'm not interested in the hot monkey type sex like I had in my younger years(I'm too achy), but I am interested in good old fashion sex
