Hi Ladies!
For all of you that have been Botoxed, I have a question fior you. I had it done for the 2nd time and realize that for a good 12 hours after, I feel like hell. I get the not so abnormal headache but what scares me is the fatigue and weakness. It is fine the next day, but for the 1st day it is completely weird just how bad I feel. I swore that I won't do it again because of this (but know I will). Has anyone else had this same reaction?
Thanks!!!

girlsmom, have you ever considered getting microdermabrasion and cold laser done instead? It's something you can get done on a lunch break, and if you keep it up on a monthly basis, you'll get the same effects. You'll also get rid of any hyperpigmentation (freckles and pregnancy mask) and any skin discolorations. Look into it. You won't suffer from any ill effects. And it's so relaxing, when I have it done, I fall asleep. (And never feel like hell) laugh.gif

botox is short for Botulinum toxin, it's a poison, so it's no wonder you feel bad after using it.

I have only had the corners of my mouth done and I felt fine afterwards.

Headaches are a common side effect though and given Zen's comment it is not surprsing really.

However what is 24 hours of feeling out of sorts as compared with the result!!

As you know you are going to feel rough, hvae it done as late in the day as possible, get everything done in advance so the children are all organised and stuff and book yourself an early night so feeling better the next day.

How much did you have done? I liked the result after mine but it was no where as good as the Perlane I had two weeks later on the nasal labial bits. Visited my hair dresser this week end who kept asking me why I looked so different etc........I eventually told her about it and she was so wowed by what a difference it had made to looking more youthful. She described me before as looking good but a bit tired, now I look like I have had a really long holiday.

I knew precisely what was going in my body the first time around and researched every possible side effect. I believe in making informed decisions and determine the calculated risk I will decide to take. Besides most ladies I speak to that have had botox, do not have side effects. Im very sensitive to everything that's put into my body, including TYLENOL.

I had 3 *fruit sour* peelings and my skin didn't react and therefor my Dermatologist didn't think a microdermabrasion would benefit me either. (don't know how it would translate into English but it is the mildest form) then I had a different peel (gotta find the name of it)and my skin really peeled. I should have atleast 2 more but certainly not in the spring. go for faciials atleast once a month and that includes a mini peel but I love the botox effect. You just don't get that from peelings :-( The difference is that with peelings, you don't get the firmness that botox gives you. The first day is hard, perhaps also because of the sensation of getting needles in your face :-O !!! Feel/look great today... I said never again last Friday but I am sure I'll be back again in 6 months...had a sculptura fill (my *11* spot was a *1* LOL!!!! You couldhave bungy jumped into it it was so deep! 7 months later and that is still holding, thank God, because that was painful.
Thanks all....Girlsmom
