I totally agree problems are never-ending be it peri or not ! Now gettting these painful pimply like sores on my scalp. They are quite painful on touch and sometimes hurt too when not touched. Anyone getting this similar situation? Have a great weekend!

Did you recently have your hair colored? I had gotten little scabs on my scalp once after having my hair colored.

Marrin7, I started getting pimples on my scalp after using a shampoo that I think my sensitive oily scalp is allergic to. I switched to a colored shampoo for sensitive scalp about 3 weeks ago. Coincidentally I think these sores also appear about the same time after the shampoo switch. These pink sores are quite painful, some look flat and some bumpy. I feel some pimply pain sensation even though I do not touch them. Pretty strange!
To answer your question, yes, I just colored my hair yesterday but all these happen way before. Not sure if this is peri-related or scalp contact dermatitis?

Yup....during the worst of my peri symptoms I got exactly what you are talking about-- they went away on their own....but they hurt like crazy! I actually felt like if I moved my hair, my scalp would hurt! I tried using an over-the-counter medicated shampoo and it seemed to help-- I didn't use it everyday, maybe 2x a week when I was bothered.

My husband and son used to have exactly the same thing on the scalp. When OTC shampoos and potions did not work, they both went to the dermatologist, who prescribed a topical medication that knocked the problem right out. I suggest the same for you if the sores do not go away.

My son's was so painful that he refused to let me kiss him on the head!

I get those spots too and they hurt like crazy. I was wondering if there ws something wrong with the skin of my head. I am glad that it is not serious. Thanks for posting about this.

I was at the doc yesterday. She said these pimples and pain were caused by oil glands on our such sensitive scalp. Glad that this is not a big issue. I think all of us affected should try something like organic shampoo which does not contain any harmful chemicals like SLS. Am still searching for it at the moment.
