I had a bout with the dizzies a year or so ago & they eventually faded away. They seemed to hit when I bent over to sort laundry, etc. Now, within the last week, this crazy feeling has popped up. It's hard to describe. It's not a "pass out" or room spinning feeling, but maybe more of an off balance kind of woozy feeling. If I'm driving, it's like the road wants to move a little. I finally took a Xanax yesterday and it seemed to help keep me from freaking out. I wonder if it is sinus. It comes along after I have been up for 30 minutes to an hour. Some days are worse than others. I have terrible pressure across the bridge of my nose and behind my eyes. Sudafed, Claritin, etc. don't seem to help. I am at my wit's end and I don't know where to start. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Yep, I can relate...I call it the rocking boat, riding up and down on an elevator feeling. You walk, stop and everything keeps moving. Yes, it's a part of peri, but I also think it's from congested ears. Our ears are what we get our balance from, and when they get clogged, our balance gets out of whack and we get the 'whirlies'...so to speak.

I'm using sudafed, and it is getting better, but very slowly. One thing I suggest is going to the topic JJ put on called Mental Fatigue - I think you'll find that very interesting. ok?

Just know you aren't alone. By the way, I tend to refer to it as feeling like I have a medicine head...like it's full of pressure with popping ears and such. You also might try sleeping on 2 pillows, because it's possible your sinus is draining into your ears and causing the dizzy sensation. Two pillows will elevate your head so the drainage goes into your stomach and not your ear canals...

I hope it helps

Tay, thanks for the info!! I will try sleeping on 2 pillows. I had never really thought about the "junk" messing with my ears.
I'm heading to the link for more info right now. Thanks again.

Hi Odiedog
I am Post and remember the off balance/woozy feeling well.....just as you described.
It was like the world had "shifted" a little and I wasn't quite in sinc.
I also had (still have) the blocked ears.. they are "normal" for me now!
At times I also had the horrible room spinning/drunk/seasick sensation that others have/had.
It did all stop as I reached Post.....the dizzies are a memory now.. so it will all go away!!
I'm sorry I can't help with what to do.. for me nothing helped. I guess the best approach is to view it as "normal" then it is not scary so not so stressful....
Do be careful driving though!
