I was just wondering if anyone knows if naturally blond hair will turn gray eventually? I have "heard" that it does not, but I may be wrong. My hair seems to be getting darker blond as I get older, but I have noticed some very light hairs around my hairline. I keep telling myself that they are just very blond hairs and not white or light gray ones! :rolleyes

Any natural blonds notice any changes, or have you gone gray? Thanks! Gardenbear

I'm the opposite of a blonde, but I can tell you from seeing friends and relatives that blondes do indeed go gray. The gray hairs are just less noticeable in the beginning, because there's no stark color contrast the way there is with brunettes. Sorry to break the news to you! wink.gif

i'm a natural blonde... i was white haired as a baby/small child, and now i'm seeing white hair again! my hair has darkened over the years too, expecially as i no longer go out into much sun, so i don't mind the white hairs at present, they have lightened my hair colour naturally! biggrin.gif

i first noticed a few thicker white hairs, you know, those ones that tend to stick up and make themselves known, quite some time ago, but now even the finer hair is white too..

my mother looked at my head in the sun one day, and told me my hairdresser was doing a wonderful job on the highlights, they looked so natural! lol!! was almost a shame to have to tell her i was just going white... i'm glad it's white, and not grey tho..

This is so funny!! I am a .....(ahem)....'natural blonde'....with the help of L'oreal ofcourse wink.gif BUT....I want to go grey SO badly!! I talked briefly with my hairdresser because I would LOVE some grey streaks in my blonde hair......only to be told that it is not possible sad.gif

Like you gardenbear.....my hair has gotten much darker....hence my help from L'Oreal but.....I have noticed a few grey strands.......mostly on my hairline......but I WANNA BE GREY!!
I have never been 'normal'

My husband was a blond - now he is definitely gone gray! Not white - gray. So, yes it is possible wink.gif

Our 22 year old daughter inherited his blond locks - she has beautiful blond hair with just a tad of copper/golden hilights - all natural. Lucky girl!

Well, perhaps those really blond hairs I have been noticing may indeed be white ones! dry.gif But unlike, Dot, I'm not ready yet! I think I'll use Zen's story about the wonderful highlights! laugh.gif My mom is always telling me how pretty my hair is in the sun, too. HMMMMMM.........

Thanks ladies, for your replies! (Even if they weren't what I was hoping for!) Gardenbear

My blonde hair got darker too. I now colour it natural blonde but the hair around my hairline (front and sides) goes back to white very quickly. I also have a thick white streak on one side, which I love blink.gif but gets covered by hair colour. My husband makes me colour my hair!

I am blond my birth, I died it darker, lightened it again, streaked it and all sorts throughout my life and now I am back to blond and yes it is darker than when I was younger, but still fair and yes it goes grey.

I am also a fairish down below too and much to my amusement have noticed the odd completely white strand there too. Eek!

Alice! how can your husband -make- you colour your hair! this got to me this morning.. i think it's wrong, youshould do what you want with your own hair!

my pubes are thinner, but they've not changed colour - yet! lol.....

guess i started out blonde. then i suppose it went to a mousy brown at some point, much to the disappointment of my rock star brother who has been dying his locks forever. now i'm getting those white/etc streaks that dot so covets. at least i think that they are white - my mirrors are wavy/foggy & the lights are dim (or my eyes are).

i am resigned to aging in dog years.

He does. The first time he asked if I'd got paint in my hair (the white streak) and said "For goodness sake, colour your hair". Now he comments, "Your hair is ready for colouring" and nags til it's done. I hate colouring my hair as I don't like the smell of the lotion (smells like iron)

is he going grey too Alice? (grin) maybe he should colour his too? biggrin.gif

really tho, can't you just tell him you hate doing it? maybe?
alice3
No, only his beard, which he colours.

Yes he knows I hate it, but it makes no difference. Perhaps he's afraid of being seen with an old woman (53) laugh.gif

perhaps he's just afraid of being old.. smile.gif i can relate to that, at 55 myself. i'm starting to feel it too...
