Hi there, now this I just spotted recently and thought that I would ask you all about... I have no hair on both of my calves and sides of my lower legs, but sparse hair on the shin bones! Granted my legs are very itchy, and I do scratch them sometimes, but how can the hair fall out like this? I do get skin hives very easy and was told I had Dermatographia or the skin writing condition. My hair on my head seems to be not too bad, but this hair only on the fronts of my lower legs has me concerned. Does anyone have any experience with hair loss on their legs??? Is this also a peri/menopause symptom??? Best Wishes, Celica2

Same here. It's been like that for almost 10 years--about when I started peri (I'm post now). Since I've been alone for those years, I never shave my legs--no one to see them--so it is more noticeable to me. I only have hairs on my shins and nowhere else on my legs. I like it that way. If I ever do have to shave for Dr. appt. or whatever, it makes for a quick job!

Hi Ladies,

I use to have hair on my forearms, but no more. Like you, also very sparse hair on my legs and can't even remember when I last shaved.

Hair on my head is not as thick but really not noticeable as I have a lot of hair anyway.

Maybe this is on thing positive about the change.

Thanks for answering my post! I do agree, if this isn't anything to be concerned about, then it is probably the only peri/menopause symptom that is worth having! It is just very odd looking. Going through the past winter on the prairies made me not want to shave for warmth, and then I looked down and saw the weird hair growth pattern. My husband can't believe what changing hormones can do to us women. Celica2

Hi,
After my hysterectomy the hair stopped growing under my arms
and on my legs...a little on the shins. I know this is related to
hormone lost..low testosterone because I have take Estrogen
and progesterone but it didn't come back.
I see it as a sign our testosterone is too low.
I hope to get started on it soon for libido and will see if the
hair growth comes back to normal but don't really want
a mustache LOL.
