Hello,

My name is Aisha and I'm new to the forum. I just turned 40 and was told by my Gyno that I'm Peri. I've had a great deal of disturbing symptoms. Looks like I'm in for a bumpy road. Just wanted to take some time to introduce myself and say hello to everyone. Good luck on your journey through Peri. I look forward to getting to know you ladies!

Hello and welcome,

Hope your ride is not too bumpy but assume you must be feeling a bit rough, you would not have found us otherwise!!

I too hit 40 and welcomed Peri., I was rubbish for a good two years or so until I started to pick up and now feel normaler for much of the time now, just the odd hick up and a few rough patches!

The reference sections are good but my greatest comfort is the message board and all the lovelies on it, so will use this a big thank you to them too.

Hi

It's nice to meet you Amanda and Thank you for your welcome :-) Sorry to hear you had a rough start. What did you do to help stabilize your condition? Are you on HRT? I just started some natural Progestorone cream, I hope it works! Any words of wisdom you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Have a fabulous day!

Hi Aisha,
I hope your doing ok?

If you want to get hold of me for any reason just go to my profile and get my email address and send me an email.

My Journey began about 1 or 2 years ago. I noticed that my gums swelling. Then about 6 or 8 months ago I missed a period and thought I was pregnant. It was not a nice couple of weeks waiting to see if I was pregnant or not.

I went to a Herbalist and got some Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin B Chaste Tree. Since Ive been on these Ive been so much better.

Bye for now From Deb biggrin.gif

Hello Deb,

Thanks for getting back to me. I've been doing ok other then the depression. It seems to be rougher now then when I was younger. WOW gums swelling? What caused that? I have bleeding gums but no swelling. So how long have you been period free? My ND told me I was estrogen dominant but almost 0 Progestorone. I haven't ovulated in 4 months. I'm dry during the times of Ovolation. TMI I know , I'm just confused with how our bodies work. I know that Evening Primrose helps with estrogen defiency, not sure about estrogen dominance. All of my hormones are low including the estrogen , it just happens its higher then Progestorone and Testostorone. I guess I'll figure it out someday. I'm so happy to hear that you are doing better on your herbs, any relief is better then none smile.gif Ihope you continue to do well biggrin.gif

Hi Aisha (beautiful name, does it have a special meaning?) and welcome. I'm Deb (48) and at the end of perimenopause. Been working my way through this for nearly 10 years and have not had a period since last September.

Hope your transition goes as smooth as possible for you.

hI mY NAME IS ANJO, i'm new here too, just need some advice. I am 49yrs old, I have one child of 14 still at home, I struggle to find things to do all day long. I have taken SEROXAT for the last 11yrs, at 30mg, am now tapering, am currently at 10mg.

My problems are these, I have now developed anxiety/panic attacks, have not had a period since December 2007, have dizzyness, brain fog, i leak urine occasionally, I am constantly crying, I feel no enjoyment of anything, things that used to interest me, no longer do. I am totally fed up with my life, and disatisfied with everything in my life.

I also suffer bouts of agoraphobia, and can go months without going out of the house, although I do not feel depressed at this moment, i have suffered black hole depression, earlier on in my taper from these drugs.

Can someone please advise, is the way I am feeling down to the taper of Seroxat, or is this likely to be a menapause problem because of my age.

Oh Anjo I feel for you for I have dove into the depths of deep Depression and still struggle on a daily basis to find a reason to get thru the day. I've never taken AD's but have been tempted to. Maybe you should taper off of your meds slower. Have you discussed with your doctor that you are still struggling with Depression? The Urine leaks, anxiety attacks and brainfog are definately signs of Meno. Have you had your hormones checked? If not that would be a good place to start as well as testing your Adrenals which can cause some serious problems with Depression and Anxiety. I had my Adrenals tested and found out I'm stage 3 which is very serious but it can be treated. This time in your life is very difficult but it will get better. The ladies here are very knowledgeable and compassionate, we have all been thru most of your symptoms and can definately empathzie with your pain. I will say a little prayer for you in hopes that you will find balance and peace. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

Hugs,

Aisha

Hi there, sorry to be so long in returning to you.

Yes I am taking HRT. A combined sort. It is not Bio. But not also made from any animal products so not sure what it is. Duette I think. It took several brands to get to one that suited me. I also take some of the Vitamins from the list on the site too, like Magnesium, Vit D and Calcium and I try to eat well, lots of fruits and veggies and at least 50% raw.

My only words of wisdom are to take each day at a time, no two seem to be the same and one bad day does not mean the next will be, although if you have bad day you then spend the next couple wondering if these will be too!! Dhurr, that retched anxirty monster. I also take an AD. I was on 1mg a day but now on a half so that's progress!!

How is the progesterone cream coming along?
