Since I had my gallbladder out last Sept. I have been plagued by rectal itching after I have a bowel movement. I usually have several loose stools every morning, a side effect from gallbladder surgery for some people...well every time I poop. I itch for several minutes and it is a very intense itch and most uncomfortable. I do have a hemorrhoid so perhaps that is causing the itching. Any ideas and anything I can use for relief? Thanks

Sounds like a hemorroid to me. Might try Tucks. I think that is what they are called. Also Preparation H.

I too have this problem....although I haven't had any gall baldder problem, I may have an internal hemmie...as nothing is visible outside.
I have been plagued with loose stools for more than 2 years now....I have gone gluten free since 3 weeks ago (a test showed me as gluten intolerant)....no changes yet, I'm hoping their will be though.
I tried Tucks but they don't stop the itching much, just burn a little!

Oh Tina wish I didn't have experience of this but I do. My GYN had already recommended a steroid cream for external vaginal dryness when I started itching at the back. GYN said to use the steroid cream there too and bingo it really helps. He recommended Trimovate. Don't know whether this helps but I do understand the need for some kind of relief from this problem. Good luck.
