Absolutly no way! You are from South Texas! What a small world. I am actually SA. The summers are very brutle and a real hot flash problem.
Had trouble sleeping again last night. I find that so frustrating because I am so stickin exhausted so you would think I would just drop into sleep!
Arnt hot flashes wierd? It is so strange how they work! I thought hot flashes would be no big deal before peri. I would just fan myself and move on. What Texas girl is afraid of heat? Noone told me about the anxiety or the jitters or the depression or the aura, or anything alse that accomanies the heat! Kind of ticks me off that noone told me!
Dont be surprised if you have anxiety for a good 20 to 30 minutes even (or what feels like 20-30 minutes) then a flash of heat anywhere on your body for a split second. Then it is over. It could be your ears, your face, your chest, I get a lot right across my stomach. I use to think it was a gush of stomach acid, then one day it dawned on me, it was a hot flash. The pre-hot flash stuff to me is actually worse than the heat finally hitting. Hot flahes take on all sorts of ways. So when you feel it, just breathe deep and tell yourself you are not dyingbut having a hot flash. The worse that will happen to you is the aggrevation of it all. I had a bout of the jitters yesterday. I held on and it eventually passed.
I have been in peri too long! I started at the age of 41 and it hit me like a ton of bricks with profound confusion. Was not prepared at all! I will be 47 in May, so 6 years and still going strong!
Sounds like you are so young in peri and I know that is rough. Maybe you will stop at an earlier age? I hope so.
I have never had my blood drawn for hormones. So my hormones are a mystery. It is said that they are so up and down in peri, that it is hard to know really what is going on. So I am peri by symptom only.
Amazing that you gyn said you were peri at such a young age! Mine wouldnt admit it till just this year. He told me I was too young at 41. You and I both know that I wasnt though. How old are you now?
think alongside the anxiety, insomnia the inside tremors are definitely the worse! UGH!!!! Amen to that!
Have a great day. I will be in and out today. so I will check back!
Happy Friday Peri1961,
I was born in SA and lived in Bigfoot during some of my childhood, and in Corpus Christi, Texas most of my adult life. I love SA , plenty of stuff to do! What I miss the most out here in Montana is the ability to go to a Barnes and Noble, Whole Foods Market at the drop of a hat. I live in Central Montana, 2-21/2 hours away from everything. We just recently moved into this big old house in the country and I feel even more isolated. On the up side there is plenty of nature to enjoy and of course the big Montana sky!
Speaking of weird hot flashes I had one like you described a couple of weeks ago that took me off guard at first. This overwhelming panic came over me and then I got really hot. It took me a moment to realize that the anxiety was a pre curser to the hot flash. I haven't had one like that since. Wouldn't miss it if it never happened again!
It seems like everyday brings on a new symptom everyday. Yesterday I had what I have now found out that I had a ocular migraine. It was scary! I saw this jagged, flashing image in my blind spot with colors and when I would look at the window it looked like water on the window. I couldn't see real well for a time but it went away and left a nasty headache! So of course I come on here and find out what it was! Thanks to the forum it is so informative! There's so much support here! It's nice ladies like you that make this journey tolerable :-)
Have you had your adrenals checked? The inside tremors are from exhausted adrenals. I got mine checked and I was stage 3 exhaustion and have been applying a cream that supports them as well as progesterone, testosterone etc... It has helped a great deal; however the pats few days the tremors have come back just not with the same vengeance! It may be wortha try for you since that seems to be a big symptom for you. It's expensive but is so worth it.
I have read on here that many woman who are undeniably in Menopause and get the blood work done only to be told that the are not menopausal. I guess blood work isn't the best marker for the dramatic dipps in the hormones. I know that there is a salvia test that you take for 28 days and that would tell you the whole picture and if you are Menopausal it will definitely show up! Like you I don't need any tests to tell me that I'm there!
My Gyno told me at age 34 that she thought I was Peri because of my already irregular periods. I just turned 40 this month. I went from having a period for 7 days to 5 days to 3 days now I'm at 2 days and most of the time they are light. I never know when they are going to start, my only sign is Insomnia 3-7 days before sometimes I get severe cramping 2 days before. What was your first sign or signs that you where Peri? In the six years that you have been Peri what were the most profound changes? Sorry for all the questions

It's interesting to hear the journey
Have you tried Melatonin or any other sleep aids for your insomnia? There is a build up process with the Melatonin but it works for me most of the time.
Here's hoping that your cycle begins so that you can finally get some rest!! I bet your feeling like a zombie

right now! Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Hugs,
Michelle
