I have never had any cysts on my ovaries before. I went to the doctor yesterday because I got a period in between my period. The doctor found one 6cm cyst on my right ovary, and then my left ovary has a 4cm cyst, but the ovary is also enlarged. Also, the doctor thinks the cyst on my left ovary might have two different kinds of fluid in it. I have Hashimoto's Disease (autoimmune deficiency that causes hypothyroidism) and I'm wondering if this is related to it. I know that Hashimoto's can cause polycystic ovary syndrome, but does one cyst on each ovary qualify for that? Also, I had to have a CA125 done to see what that is, and am waiting for that to come back. The doctor feels that this is probably 90 percent not cancer, but he just isn't sure. Has anyone had something like this happen before? blink.gif

I have had lots of ovarian cysts that have always resolved themselves over the last 12 years. Some have been very painful. I am post-menopause now, hopefully. I don't know if an autoimmune disease has anything to do with it or not. You probably need to ask your doc about it. Had ultrasounds done of them but no Ca125 testing. Ultrasound showed no cancer. This has been going on a good 12 years and I am stiill kicking so I guess it wasn't cancer but I can tell you that when the cyst popped it sure did HURT! Hang in there, the roller coaster ride is a tough one for some. Hopefully there is an end to the ride.
