Hi Ladies,
I need a good night cream and was wondering what you all use. I've tried Pond's pro-age night cream and Estee Lauder Night Repair. also use Retin-A sometimes. My skin has really headed south in the last year (51) and it's time for some serious help. Suggestions, please!

Hi!
I am very picky about moisturizers--something about the texture has to be just right... If it is too sticky or gooey or slimy it drives me insane,
The one I finally found is Prescriptives Intensive Rebuilding Moisturizer. It is much too pricey, but I really love it, and one jar lasts for a very long time.
And my saleswomen advised me not to buy the other moisturizers they sell. She said that this one is just great for day or night.
I hope that helps. If you try it, I would love to know what you think.
Very best,
Marcy
Marcy,
Thanks for the tip! When I'm in Macy's next, I'll see if they have a tester jar on the counter and try it out. I used to use Prescriptives loose translucent powder and it was the best. good products.
thanks again,
L2

A long time ago a dermatologist recommended Complex 15 to me. I still use it. I probably should try something else as our skin changes with age-but this still works for me. It isn't packaged fancy and it comes in a tube or small bottle.
I buy it from CVS. Hope this helps.

Anything in the Arbonne RE9 set is awesome. I am currently hooked on there body serum and lotion. It has taken callouses off my feet even! You can order online or find a representative. If you sign up directly you get a 35% discount woo hoo! I swear their products are so addictive, I signed up a few months back for the discount! All hypo-allergenic products too, so anybody can use them.

Not just a night cream, but an all round moisturizer ---- Dremu Oil. Once two-three drops are applied you massage them in, and then wait about 10 mins. After that, it feels like normal, soft healthy skin. A form of microdermabrasion done at least once a week is also good. Pharmaceutical grade lanolin on lips at night, and "secret" eye gel morning and night. It works!

Davinci, thanks so much for the input.
I have yet to find anything to keep my nasty-looking feet looking human. I have calluses that could probably cut through glass... I saw a product advertised in a catalogue a year or so ago that is supposedly used to keep the hoofs of horses soft and supple, but I waited too long, and it is no longer available. I guess I am not the only one with hoof heels.
I will look for an Arbonne rep. Wow.

Marcy,
No. You are not alone. I have calloused feet also--and bunions; so my feet are not "sandal" feet at all. My feet are my worst flaw I would say. Let me know if you find another place to get the horse-hoof remedy because I could use it too!!
Take care,
Cindy

Good Morning, Lady!
Just wondered if you'll reveal what your 'secret' eye gel is all about or if that's actually a product, etc. I have horrible puffy, swollen eyes EVERY DAY and have tried everything imaginable to get rid of them. I really look ill and people comment on it as well. My doctors also have no explanation for it. Any help you can give is much appreciated.
Thank you,
Jen

Hello L2,
I use unrefined Shea butter its great for moisture and repairs the skin, it's also inexpensive and will last forever. It can be used on any dry areas of the body. I hope this helps. Have a fabulous day :-)

Had a facelift last December. After the swelling went down, my face was really dry. Hope in a Jar (Philosophy) really brought it back. It will be my winter moisturizer from now on. I also like the Olay regenerist stuff--the foam spray. Sorry peri moment, can't think of the name, but I buy it at Costco. Really does help with the brown patches and is very light. Not sticky or gooey at all. Also adds a very nice dewy glow to the skin.

If you're looking at basic moisturizing, then just a plain, neutral cream will do it and you don't have to spend buckets of moolah on this either. If going the drustore route, plain old Cetaphil Cream or Lotion is your best buy, or if going the natural route, unrefined shea butter, extra-virgin olive oil, or extra-virgin coconut oil are all fab! Avoid things with fragrances - they are unnecessary and add irritation potential as well. Many times we think we're allergic to a cream with active ingredients
But if you are looking for things that make a real difference for night use, skip the gimmicks and go with either something with alpha-hydroxy acid, peptides, or a prescription retinoid like Retin-A or Renova. The alpha-hydroxies and Retin-A have considerable research and a good track record behing them. Using a vitamin C product underneath your sunblock during the day is really helpful too. If you slowly ease into Retin-A, irritation potential is very much reduced, unless you really do have very delicate skin in which case you should not use anti-aging products much anyway. If the skin is dry from retinoid use, then moisturizing with one of the plain things I mentioned will really help.

Water, water, water. Inside and out. Drink bottled mineral water. Open facial pores with water as hot as you can stand it, cleanse with gentle and/or natural product, then rinse over and over with hot water, then splash with cold (ice if possible) water, pat dry.
Witch hazel - fantastic astringent to refine pores!
Castor oil.
Olive oil.
Avocado and fresh lemon juice.
Evening primrose oil supplements contain an essential fatty acid which are supposed to strengthen skin cells and boost moisture content.
Get sufficient sleep so that skin's cellular repair activity is at its optimum.
Exercise benefits skin as it promotes circulation and encourages blood flow.
