Hi. I have not been back to the boards for some time, but I am glad I am back. I am 44 and have had weird stuff come and go over the last 2 years, but now I am told my endometrial lining is too thick and heterogeneous, and I am scheduled for a D and C. I am really scared, since I still have young kids, one of whom is disabled and really needs me. Any ideas? How often does this happen? Any insight would be much appreciated...
Many thanks,
Anita

Anita, it's not uncommon at all. I had a D&C and then my lining thickened a bit again afterwards, but it shrunk down by itself once I was fairly post. You'll just have some minor cramping from the D&C and some bleeding afterwards, but sometimes it totally takes care of the problem, and it doesn't come back. Good luck, and don't be scared! It's pretty routine!

Thicken endometrial lining & heterogeneous is common doing peri, I had ultrasounds very 6 months before the heavy bleeding started. Doctor kept a eye on things but then once they horrid bleeding started I had no choice but to have a D&C.
D& C last Nov>> it was a breeze and I'm a big baby!

My Mum had this problem too. I remember she had a D&C and it was fairly routine and this was back in the 80's. Don't worry, you will be fine.
