Does anyone experience a sensation of a pounding pulse that seems very noticable in the pulse area of your neck  and sometimes in the chest area right after or before a hot flash?  I seem to be experiencing these lately and they have me a bit concerned.  It also seems like my heart rate rises as well.  Sometimes it only lasts a short time and at other times it seems to last for awhile.  I am sure my anxiety about it doesn't help the situation!!!!!!  Any input would be most appreciated and thank you so much.

Hi  Dor,

I am not surprised that you have that happen. All that heat rising to that area of your body has to something. I  usually am too miserable to even notice my pulse, but I sure will check it the next time I have one.As long as you have no high blood pressure and are healthy otherwise I'm sure this is just good old menopause. If it were me , I wouldn't be worried:)Hugs, jeanne

Dear Jenna, thank you so much for your very nice and fast response.  You really did make me feel a whole lot better.  I am sorry you are miserable and do hope that you feel better very soon.  This is quite a ride isn't it!!!!!!!  Hugs to you too.  Dor

Hi Dor -You know how an aura will precede a migraine?  (maybe you don't know -- lucky you!)  A flash of light or vision impairments will sometimes precede a migraine.  Well, I do believe that sometimes a pounding pulse can precede, or coincide with a hot flash.  It's always true for me (although, blessedly, I'm not getting many hot flashes since I started on Revival).

Remember that the body is going through a huge physical change, and the psyche is going through equally huge an emotional change.  Of course your pulse will soar.  Try to calm yourself through deep breathing - take in lots of deep breaths and let them out slowly.   This helps me, I hope it helps you!

Hi Dor!I agree with the Sisters here...  I get that ol' pounding-in-the-neck thing, too.  Scared the p00p out of me at first.  A lot of the Meno-Sisters have strange heart/pulse stuff going on.  If the doc checks you out as OK, then you can join our club (not much of an honor, I know, but at least you're in good company!)

Take care, breathe from the belly, stretch out a bit, and know that it will soon pass.

Hugs to you!

Dor
Thanks so much to all of you.  How nice of you to respond in such reassuring ways.  It is so appreciated and I thank  you all so very much.  My thoughts are with all of you.  Dor
