I bought Magnesium Choloride, (brand name Slow-Mag) for my palps. Each dose supplies 128 mg of Magnesium. The Magnesium Choloride is supposed to have increased absorption over magnesium oxide. My question is, how much should I take daily to help with the palps and how soon will I notice if it is working? Also, where do you usually buy your Magnesium or what brand do you buy?

Odie,
I take magnesium glycinate 200mg. twice a day. I am not really sure why I do, it has never helped my palps. I guess I stay on it because it does keep me regular and helps stop constipation from the calcium I take. I hope you have better luck than I have taking magesium. I have tried every form, every amount, but it never helped the palps. Be careful when you start taking it, you can get diaarhea. Good luck, Connie

Thanks for the info. I could use something though for my constipation. Maybe this will do double duty! I bought the Magnesium yesterday and the buzzing and palps stopped. Go figure. I'm sure they will return!

slo mag is excellent. Go ahead and use it up and see how you feel. I have changed to mag ox. I like that a lot and am sticking to it for now. I would go back to slo mag if needed though.
I really feel that magnesuim deficiency is one of the main culpits in peri. It may take a while for you levels to level off so kepp it up. Mag got rid of my palps, stomach issues, It is a miracle to me!

There is a drink called Calm that is magnesium. From what I understand it's supposed to be a natural relaxant (and help with regularity). A friend recommended it and I make a hot drink of it at night and I think it helps me sleep a little better. Maybe a placebo affect, but who cares? Is anyone else familiar with it or know anything else about it?

Hi Donna,
Yes I have the same product and it works great for the palps , but I have to be careful because it makes me run to the bathroom and upsets my stomach. Calm is Magnesium citrate.
I was so glad I had in on hands one night when my husband had severe muscle cramps in his legs and was on the floor in pain. I gave him a whammy dose of three teaspoons!
It worked like a charm!
No placebo effect !
Best Wishes !

I use Natural Calm (I think it's the one you've mentioned)... it has stopped my palps and does help me sleep better. I have the lemon/raspberry, it mixes in hot water. My heart was flip-flopping before I started using it. It helps my tmj because magnesium is a muscle relaxant. I also feel that low magnesium is responsible for alot of health problems. A good read is "The Miracle of Magnesium"

Ah yes! Natural calm! I use that too. Highly recommended. It stops my internal jitters! Love the stuff! Keep it on hand.

Sharon,
Does the citrate in Calm (or anything else like a calcium supplement) increase the need to run the bathroom? You mentioned that as a side effect and I was wondering if that might have something to do with an increased need to pee!
Thanks for your insights!
