Okay friends, it's the dead of winter and I have broken out with a heat rash on my chest that will not go away!! Isn't this weird!!??Anyone else have this problem???
Meryl
Cathy, I broke out with a rash at the beginning of the winter. The doctor said it was pityriasis rosea (not sure of the spelling there). I'm not sure that's what it was; I think it was anxiety. Anyway, it went away in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Meryl. It's been with me for about six weeks now... guess I'm headed to my docs office. sad.gif

Chatt, PR can last for months! It's a little itchy. Do you itch? Is it red ovals?
ChattyCathy
No, not itchy - just little dark red spots. Kinda looks like prickley heat that you get in the summer-time if it's really hot. It's all along exactly where my bra is. (Front - nothing on the back). Hmmmm....

Hi Cathy,
My sister just went to her doctor for a similar type of rash ( red spots) where her bra sits and it was a yeast infection. Hers wasn't itchy at all.

Dear Cathy,

Good idea to go to the doctor and see what the rash is all about. I had a rash that lasted for the longest time. I finally went to the doc and he said it was a fungal infection. How did I get that? Who knows?

There are milllions of lotions and potions for all kinds of rashes. I hope you get or have gotten relief. Please keep us posted!

Thanks all! Will do. Speaking of bras - and cootie infections - does anyone else have a little bit of anxiety when trying on bras at department stores??? I saw this rather unfortunate looking woman returning underwear at the store the other day (bras and underwear). The store was taking them back -- no tags...!! What if she wore them??? ick! In my younger days, stores didn't take underware back.... Food for thought. Chatty dry.gif

Chatty- That is so gross about the woman returning the underwear! Yikes! Hopefully the store just took a loss on it and didn't put it back out to resell! Aren't there some type of health laws or somethiing?? blink.gif

I don't have anxiety trying on bras (well, I DIDN'T until now!!), but don't like trying on bathing suits!! Even with my undies left on, it still feels unsanitary! And I wash everything I buy before I wear it!

Hope your rash is better! Gardenbear

Chatty,

I just found this topic. I've had a similar problem. It could be prickly heat, a fungus or possibly a yeast infection. When it's in the bra area, and I'm assuming it's under the breast, it could be from clogged sweat glands beneath the breast which is a breeding ground for inflammation, rashes, itching, fungus. It's nothing major and can be treated with the proper cream. I've tried numerous creams - did nothing. Then, my current excellenet gynecologist (chief of gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center) prescribed an excellent cream that's helped tremendously. You might want to ask your doctor for it. The brand name is Lotrisone. I get the generic (the Fougera generic creams are the best). The generic name is Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream, USP 1%/0.05% (base). All he has to do is give you an Rx for Lotrisone.

In my Mother's last few months, she developed a very bad bed sore. We tried everything, but nothing seemed to help sufficiently. I brought over a tube of my Lotrisone and the bed sore healed in a week. I use this cream all the time and highly recommend it.

You can read more about it on a site I've used for years: http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/clobet.htm

I hope this helps.

Hi all! Went to visit the doc today. Looks like this rash is some kind of bacterial thing. Got a prescription for an antibiotic. If it doesn't go away I'll be recommended to see a dermatologist. Wish me luck!!

P.S. Thank you again all for your posts. smile.gif Chatty
