Seriously. Yesterday I forgot one of my sisters' name. More and more often simple words escape my mind. I have to write EVERYTHING down in my calendar or I'll forget. Went to Nordstrom specifically to pay my bill, ate dinner in the cafe right next to the customer service office and STILL forgot to pay the darn bill. Today I forgot what day of the week it is. It's kind of weird how NOT freaked out I am about this. If a friend were to tell me this was going on with them I would be worried for them.

When do you start to worry and consult a doctor? I don't think Alzheimers runs in my family or anything but that doesn't mean I can't be the first.

I have forgotten where places are in my small town!! Which is ridiculous, I have lived here for over 30 years! I have forgotten how to spell (and I used to be an excellent speller). I seem to have forgotten how to speak correctly as my oldest daughter is always correcting me, and it used to be ME doing the correcting! laugh.gif I often walk into rooms and completely forget what I went into the room for!!! Maybe I am getting Alzheimers too! And it doesn't scare me, just annoys me.

You can add me to the CRS club! I can't seem to remember anything. I have to write myself notes all the time and tell my kids to remind me of things, because I know I will forget! I put post it notes on my cupboards....."freeze chicken, boil eggs, get cookies baked." Just dumb stuff that I know I will forget about. And I make lists of places I need to go during the week, and then more lists of stuff I need from those places! A typical list......go to mailbox, grocery store, pet shop, pick up RX's.

Last week I went shopping. I saw some door mats I wanted, but didn't want to haul them around while I looked at clothes, so I was going to pick them up when I was done. Yep, I forgot all about them until I was driving home! And many times I have "Stamps" written on my grocery list and I completely forget about getting them when I am at the cash register. I think I just get distracted or something.

I don't really worry about it. I just think I'm getting scatterbrained! laugh.gif It is annoying though!

Yes another one here.
My hubby has always been like this and I have always been the reminder, but not anymore, I forget the most simplist things and can't seem to write myself a mental note anymore.
Mornings are bad as to remembering what day it is, when I first wake up, The harder I try, the more it escapes me, so I try not to think, then it comes to me wacko.gif

We have to write things down in our house now, otherwise a lot of things would get forgotten about.
I am not going to let it worry me either, it will be lovely to get to the stage to forget I was worried about something. huh.gif

Hip hip hooray, here's another club I can join!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
I've forgotten how many clubs I have joined here on PS - someone remind me??
I write things on the back of my hands!! I forget where I leave the notes..
I forgot a friend's name this morning...known her for 20 years...
I called my son by my grandson's name...
I shall take to calling everyone daahhhlin'....
Caroline - what a lovely attitude! The best attitude! No need to worry, we'll be forgetting our meno-symptoms!!
Actually I already am!! Someone asked me about my headaches...headaches???
Oh, now I remember I had a non-stop headache since January, but since about a week it's gone and I couldn't even remember I had had one!!
Now if that isn't delightful!!
I am trying to cultivate a selective mind - remember the good, forget the bad.
Seeing that only a tiny little part of my brain is working, that shouldn't be too difficult...
Lets enjoy the moment before we forget it!!
wub.gif Big hugs to all CRS-club-members! wub.gif

Can I join too, can I can I huh huh..........

Join??....what??.....sheesh I've forgotten what it was I was wanting to join already....LMAO laugh.gif

I need to write myself notes ALL the time especially when going into town to do errands. I used to just write on the calendar when all the bills were due for payment and pay them on time, now I forget to look at the freakin calendar so everything has had to be put on direct debit automatic payments. I also forget peoples names and words mid sentence and loads of other important stuff but anything trivial and unimportant I can remember no problem, what's with that rolleyes.gif ..........

My 8 year old daughter thinks I'm going doolally I'm sure, and my hubby, well he's seeing if he can get a 2 for 1 deal at the Alzheimers home for me and his mother lmao (it has a round fence so we won't forget where we are going when we go out walking laugh.gif )..........

I remember (did I say that word unsure.gif ) when my mum started her meno journey that one of the first things I noticed with her and many other women of her age and era that they were going a bit ditsy and dithery, couldn't hold a conversation with them as they would lose you mid sentence and go off on another tangent (sound familiar) and now it's my turn, IT'S JUST NOT FAIR Waaahhhhhhhh sad.gif

I refuse to go down this path, I want off this mad ride to wherever it's going, I want the old me back, young, vibrant, sexy, slim, carefree, who was I talking about again????? Can't remember now where this was heading, oh well I'm off to bed, it's late and I'm tired, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

When do you start to worry and consult a doctor?

I asked my doctor this very question. I am suffering from forgetfulness and some memory loss. The brain fog is also a side effect of one of my meds. In any case, this is my doctor's answer to your question:

We have so much stress in our lives. Some memory lapses and word loss and forgetfullness is normal. For instance, if you can't remember where you put your car keys, and are running all over looking for them, and see that they were in your hand the whole time....that's normal. If you have your car keys in your hand, and you are staring at them, and you don't know what they are, or what they are for, call your doctor. That's not normal.

Dear Ladies
Signing on if there are any places left!
The strange things I have done and the memory thing are so ridiculous
It helps to read everyone's moments in the Sun and then have a good laugh!
Now what exactly was it we were discussing?

Hugs to All
