I usually pluck but thee are way too many to keep up with. I waxed with prewaxed disposable strips....
there is still wax stuck all over my face! It won't wash off. I tried baby oil, vaseline, and a facial scrub which stung because of the irritated skin. is there any way to get this off???
preferably before somebody sees me.

I feel for you I also have alot of chin facial hair
I only can say see if the box that the stuff came in has an 800 number you can call and they can safely tell you how to do it.
I know my Daughters strips comes with this lil oil stuff that helps, hope you can figure it out soon.

Anything oil-based should remove it. Try some olive oil, butter, margerine. Warm it up in the microwave first (not too hot) so that it will also warm the wax...

Thank goodness you got it off! I made my DD promise that when I'm an old lady and in a nursing home she will come once a week and wax me!!!!

No Way RoundRobin....Me too !
I made my daughter swear that she would remove every last hair from my face if I were in a nursing home. Of course she told me she would never let me end up in one of those and that she was going to be rich and take care of me. She is a darling!
Best wishes!

That's so funny, cuz I also asked my daughter to keep me plucked or waxed if I am ever unable to do it myself. I don't think she thought I was serious, but I was! It's such a job. We'll have to have that talk again.

Ahhh, the waxing of the face...how sweet and feminine we all sound!!
I tried the strips and didn't like them at all. I found some wax that comes in a tiny pot (looks just like a sauce pan) and you heat the wax up on the stove, then using a wooden spatula which comes with the wax, you put in on the problem areas...wait for the wax to harden and pull it off (ripping the hair out with it..owww!!). It is the best stuff I have found.

I use a cream hair remover called SurgiCare. It's a gentle lotion that you put on thickly, wait 5 ot 8 minutes, and rinse off with a wet cloth or cotton balls. It sort of dissolves the hair. It doesn't hurt. You use it about every 2 weeks because the hair comes back, but it doesn't come in dark or anything. Just those sweet little fuzzies that I hate! i hate the ones on my chin. Ugh!

Writer, does this have any effect on zits, good or bad? I'm leery of using any sort of chemical hair remover on my chin because of this darn acne. I have become borderline OCT about my chin hair, however, so I need to do something. Thanks.

I used to tweeze almost twice a week, and still would miss few long ones, and they grew thicker and thicker. But then I tried waxing it, and it works much better, now I do it once a week or so and don't miss one. There are few stubborn ones, that I used to tweeze for years, so I have to still take them out after waxing, but overall it is nothing compare to what I had before. Also, waxing makes them finer and thinner, and they don't grow back as fast as when you tweeze. I also do it myself, upper lip, chin, and it is cheap, almost painless and take 10 minutes. I buy this natural hemp wax in beauty supply, satin strips, wooden spatulas and the calming lotion. The wax is microwavable, and one jar lasts for a very long time. I go for bikini/leg wax to the beautician, so she told me that tweezing makes hair grow coarse and stiff, waxing for the opposite. I wish I knew it in my mid 30s, when it started, I always had this fussy blond hair, which started growing thicker with perimenopause, so now I wax them all together, so they became thinner and barely there.

you should never use any kind of wax or depilitory hair remover on acne or any type of broken skin, it will burn like hell.

I used olive oil to remove the residual wax, but it is natural wax, never used the pre-waxed strips. But I also like to use after that cortisol based calming lotion, that removes it all and takes care of redness.
Never try to wash off wax, it can be removed with oil only and do it right away, before it hardens. I prefer extra virgin olive oil, and it is good on my skin too.

Chocolatewoman,
I don't have any acne, so I can't say how it would affect them. But I think it says in the instructions not to use it on any areas of broken skin. That would hurt. It also says to do a small patch test. Since it's fairly thick, I think you could just put it on the areas that are acne free.

I'm hairier on my face then ever!

I have to pluck every day, ya know those black, prickly hairs? If I don't keep up on the plucking and waxing, I'll start to look like my aunt from the "old country".
