Hi to all, My 26 year old dear daughter (who works with children) got sick really rapidly. She was sent home from work. She went to the clinic the next day and the clinician did a swab test....yep, positive for Influenza A. She was treated with Tamiflu. Missed several days of work and still has a cough.
It has been seven days and she is feeling better, no fever, just the cough. The clinician told her that she would cough for 'awhile' until she recovers.
I also work in a pharmacy (as a clerk) and I have got to tell you that 'something' is going around. Customers have been coming in with coughing, sneezing, fevers, sinus stuff and on and on. I keep the hand sanitizer and the disinfecting spray at the ready.
In mid January, I came down with a virus. Ended up in the ER for fluids after fainting at home. Scared my husband! Kept me at home, in bed, for five days. My throat was so sore, I could only eat popsicles......and I don't even like popsicles. Anyways, I took pain killers, drank as much fluids as I could and rested, rested, rested. It was awful.
I will keep hoping your kids feel better.

I am glad that you're feeling better, but I'll bet that was pretty scary for your hubby. My son was tested for Influenza through his nose and both came back negative. Still, the doc treated him for influenza. Gave him Tamiflu which made him even worse. Like I said, the fever is on day 8 and he has never felt more miserable. No cough, though. I always get too concerned abut the fever. I guess I'm not supposed to let it bother me so much, but when it reached 105

!!! while in the doctor's office I tend to get a little nervous. I guess there are some pretty nasty viruses going around that mimic influenza. Could be what he has. I hope your daughter feels better soon. Take care.
