This morning i was feeling pain on my right side of my tonsils, but i didn't pay mind, but later the pain started more bothersome and i get my mirror to look inside of my mouth and i sow my right tonsil with white stuff, and this in noting new to me but i got my some q-tips and began to press in the hole and a lot of those little nasty smelly stuff came out. But then the pain started again and looked in the mirrrow again and this time when I tried to bring it out that stuff with my mouth, was more like mucus coming out and a lot. Well, I know there is conecction with the upper part of the nose, and i was wondering if this can be part of the sinus anxiety problems. I think this b/c the white stuff i tough was old food, but I really don't think it is, b/c I'm been sick with the flu and my throat has been sore for a while and my nose has been on and of with a lot of mucus. But after all, this could be some kind of bacteria that sits for years and years since childhood ( i was sick as a child with tonsils all the time ), and that make me think that this could cause all those hormonals problems and chemicals imbalance. Remember that the sinus is also connected with the hypothalamus and the others important glands that are imbolve with our changes of life. Well maybe I'm wrong but this is my oppinium. tongue.gif Who knows this can be the missing link, all that nasty stuff we can be swallow it and can spread to the rest of our body and can cause any kind of pain and psichological problems. Sorry for my spelling smile.gif

Hi Memoqueen,
My Son used to get alot of Tonsillitis when he was younger and was always on antibiotics.

He would get more than 1 lot a month so when I took hem to the Doctor for another lot of the dreaded antiboitics I had him put on the list to have them out.

One after hours Doctor I took him to said he had abnomally large Tonsills and the should have come out long ago.

Like you he used to have colds and sore throats etc all the time. Im so pleased he had them out as hes been heaps better and when he gets a cold now they dont last as long.

The white smelly stuff that you have comming out is puss. Not nice I know. On the odd occasion that Ive had tonsillitis myself instead of antiboitics Ive garggled with Cider Vinegar and it works really well to relieve the sore throat and to get rid of the Tonsillitis too. You can also swallow it as it doesnt do you any harm. Its not unpleasent but has an unusual taste. You can do it as much as you like as it doesnt matter.

You sound like me before I had my tonsils out at age 35. I had chronic infection in my tonsils for about a year and a half before a doctor finally took then out. Had Kaiser insurance before then, and those morons told me it was "normal" for white crap to come out of your tonsils. The first decent doc I saw said my tonsils were nasty and needed to come out. Had to wait another three months until my new insurance kicked in and it was hell waiting.

Have you been checked for strep? My daughter's tonsils were riddled with strep so badly antibiotics couldn't get rid of it for more than a few weeks, so guess it runs in the family.

Get yourself to an ear/nose/throat doc and stop suffering! I feel for you because I know what you're going through. I hope you get better soon.

Sounds like something I had - the stinky solid white stuff was tonsillar debris and it caused some powerful bad breath! I've seen an ENT doc for it in the past and had the debris suctioned out. He felt it was related to chronic sinus drainage, treated me with antibiotics and decongestants (which worked), and then wanted to follow up with sinus surgery, which I didn't do ... anyway, I think you might want to see an ENT and get checked out and treated. Chronic infection like this can make you feel run down at the very least! (note: I had asked several regular doctors about this over the years, and none of them were familiar with the condition ... it took a specialist to get it diagnosed and treated!)

For a picture of tonsillar debris, look halfway down on this page (warning for the squeamish: it's pretty gross!)

In the meantime, you might find a couple of things helpful: Stay well hydrated (this was crucial for me in preventing recurrences), and gargle several times a day especially after eating. Plain water is fine but salt water gargles are more soothing.
