How do you feel when you first wake up and start your day? I feel so achy and stiff. How long do your pains last? I am so sick of feeling achy. I am wondering ff taking low dose hrt will get rid of pains. Has anyone found relief from muscle tension and pains when taking low doses of estrogen? I've been using vitex/cohosh for a 3 months and some Rhodiola and my moods are better, but the pain is still here and my sex drive is still gone. I've been holding out a long time on taking the estrogen/progesterone. I finally had a massage, but it hasn't helped that much. Next thing is acupuncture and then it will have to be HRT. Looking for any results from HRT on relieving aches/pains.
Thanks.

colleen,
so very sorry that the aches have been unrelenting for you. i'm not on any hrt or bcp. my cycles are all over the place. so are the aches & pains. seems like my last really consistently bad stretch was in nov & part of dec. i had 2 short cycles in dec & alot of the symptoms were better. january was ok, but i'm starting up again with the pain - especially upper body. & i'm on day 44 of this cycle. i would love to give you something helpful in terms of advice - i simply don't know what that would be. but i have been thinking of you alot & am hoping it will ease up for you. i hope, as well, that others will have some responses re:pain & hrt. or anything that might help this.
hugs,
ellen

Hi Ellen,
I'm in the same cycle boat. It seems to me that I feel more pain as the weeks roll by. I never felt like this in my 20's 30's and even in the early 40's when I started having some skipped cycles. When the one ovary went the aches became more regular and then when the cycles started getting more erratic the aches became more intense at times and then some days I feel okay. Very weird. I had a massage for the first time last Friday and my upper back between my shoulders that is usually tight and achy hurts more now four days later. I thought massage was supposed to help??? Now I'm going to try acupuncture.
Everything I google on muscle pain and menopause shows links about the low estrogen/progesterone which is me, but then I read that some people on estrogen have worse aches? So frustrating. I posted to see if I could get an idea if anyone had relief from pains on HRT since I read on other boards some women have felt worse.
Thanks for posting and have a great day. I'm going to try and exercise today after I tutor and stay as mobile and off this subject as I can.
