Hi- I wasn't sure where to post this, but thought this might be a good place. I have always been small breasted (except when pregnant or nursing!), wearing a "nearly B" cup for the past several years. The last bras I bought were A's and now I don't even seem to fill those out! The soft, padded cups are kind of poochy. And when lay down, everything completely disappears! I am totally flat. This is really depressing me. I happened to walk into the room last night when my husband was watching some dumb comedy show, and right then, this young woman shows up on the screen in her bra and underwear, with this gorgeous, full bustline. I turned around and walked into the bathroom and started crying! I know that short of plastic surgery, which I will not do, there isn't much I can do about this. But even clothes don't fit me right. The armpits hang low because I have no chest to fill out the shirt! And tighter shirts just emphasize the poochy bra! I think I need to find a different bra for starters, but bra shopping is something I can't face right now. Can anyone relate to this? Thanks for letting me vent anyway! Gardenbear

1) That young woman probably had breast implants.
2) If you have a specialty bra shop near you, or if not, a large department store with a good lingerie dept., go in and ask for a professional fitting. You'll be amazed at what the right bra can do for both your looks and your spirits. My breasts haven't shrunk, but they sure have sagged, and a fitting made a world of difference!

Yup the boobs are shrinking here. Have went from a C cup to an uncomfortable B cup and just found a bra that is a half size. So far have bought one but intend on going back for more! I dunno for sure they have shrunk so much as they have filled up my armpits

Gardenbear, have you tried on line shopping for bras, send for a load as you can always return the unwanted ones.

A surgeon also pinched a piece.....twice !!! so am uneven too..........find a nice bra, it will make you feel better.

I know exactly how you feel, I am just the same - an A cup - and mine disappear when I lay down too! The did get bigger for a while two years ago when my doctor prescribed the mini pill for me ( don't know if it was the pill but it certainly was a coincidence), but the pill didn't suit and I shrank back to my original size very quickly. If plastic surgery was completely safe and painless I am sure I would jump at the chance, but I guess I shall have to live with them as they are. I suppose we should try to look on the bright side and be grateful they are healthy.

Regarding the boobs or lack of them, I am so disappointed that I have become so flat chested again. Never had much up top but was pleased to say I filled out more when I was pregnant at thirty-five and didn't loose the weight I acquired then for the next fifteen years, then the weight suddenly shifted along with my boobs which had taken me so long to acquire! I feel very scrawny and unfeminine. Wish I could get some uplift back or maybe I am in for the little old lady syndrome.

Waiting for them to come out with a bra you wear around your mid-section since my boobs are heading south as well!

HAHAHAHA! Hysterical! I can so relate to this.
At least all you A and B cup ladies still have breasts in the right place!
I need some serious engineering to keep my D cups up where they should be. Every bra I own has fallen to "half-mast"! And without a bra? Well, it's not a pretty sight!

Ladies,
I would welcome some shrinkage in the breasts! I became overly endowed at age 17, when my breasts grew very large - so quickly that I developed stretch marks!!! From that point on, I hated the way I looked. I am only 5 feet, 2 inches tall, small boned, and was walking around with these breasts that were way to big for my frame. I don't even know where they came from, my mom and my sister were both very small chested!
Finally, at age 40 -a year after my mother's death, and going through many changes in my life - I had breast reduction surgery. I went from a dd/e cup to a c cup - which I still am. I really would like to have gone down to a b cup, but the surgeon could not guarantee full function if I did. The nice thing is that the surgery also lifted my breasts, so I have not experienced any sagging, as of yet!
So, I have lived pretty happily with my full C's - but still dream of the day when I could be flat-chested!
I guess it just goes to show that the grass is always greener...
I do agree with other posters - go get a professional bra fitting - you will feel loads better!

Hi everyone:
I just noticed my breasts shrinking. I am still a c cup but some months my breast are saggy and not so full. It is getting more and more like that too as the full months are getting far and few.
I do agree that a good bra makes all the difference in the world. I just went out and bought a really nice fitting bra. It is so plain looking but it makes my breasts look tons better in my clothes.

That is just it though isn't it? We are now forced to wear our grandmothers bras! Ahh at least I can find humor in my ever changing body.

Thanks, ladies, for all of your comments and sense of humor! I feel better knowing I am not alone in this! I know I need to get a better bra, so will do that soon, I hope, once I can face it! I don't know if I could have a fitting; I'm quite shy about my body and don't know if I could be comfortable doing that. I hadn't thought about on line shopping. I may end up returning boxes full as nothing ever fits me right!
That's one nice thing about my period....when it does show up, I have nice full breasts for awhile, even it they are tender! Well, "full" for me, anyway.
Thanks everyone. I appreciate being able to share this with someone!

In my younger days, I was a 34D, then I put some weight on in later years and wore a 36C. I noticed a few years ago that my breasts were losing shape and yet still needed good support so I only wore very plain bras so that they would look smooth under t-shirts. However, I recently decided that I would make myself feel a bit more 'feminine' and bought a very pretty bra, but which still looks good under clothes. I was fitted for this bra, and it's not as scary as you think, as long as you find a fitter who is trained and experienced. For this I would avoid department stores and go to a specialist lingerie shop. I have been measured for a bra a number of times in the past, and in department stores I have seen assistants who look like they have just left school and are only filling in for the 'proper' fitter.
I've also ordered online and now have three or four bras via this route. I did order a choice of two last time, but sent one back as it did not feel comfortable, and they were both the same size. It depends on the brand, and I now know which brand is the best fit for me from this particular online retailer. This is a UK-based company, but they do ship to most international destinations. I'm sure there are similar online companies in other countries though. This company also has a fitting guide on their website, as you need to make sure, if you're measuring yourself, that you do it correctly. The bras I'm wearing now, I have to say, are the best fitting I've ever worn, and I now realise that I may have been wearing the wrong size for quite some time.

You gals in the UK are lucky, your under things are much better quality than what we have here in the states. Being an American married to an Englishman I have gotten lucky and bought bras and knickers across the pond. I still have 2 pairs of knickers/panties from three years ago....you don't get that much in the states! Here a new pair of panties last six months tops.

Of course it could be our washers and dryers and the difference in our laundering habits that don't help.

yes mine have shrunk and I didn't have much to start with. It's unfortunately normal, and the reason they don't do mammos on younger women. The breast tissue does shrivel up and you end up left with only the fat that used to fill in the space between the glands and ducts and lobes and breast tissue. I never had much fat in there to begin with, I can tell because I was the same cup size whether I weighed 100 pounds or 140 pounds.
One day when I was nearly 13 I went to bed boobless and woke up a 36 A. I stayed a 36 A through a weight gain, a pregnancy, and even when the milk came in (though it was a tight fit waiting for the milk to dry up.)
Then I went to bed at 40 years old one night with my 36 As and woke up nearly boobless again.
If it wasn't for playex making those half size bras I wouldn't be able to wear one at all and would have to go around with my nipples showing through my shirts. I'm now in a slighlly padded 36 "Nearly A" and I barely fill it.
My clothes don't fit right either and I am dreading the hell out of swim suit season especially considering we'll be vacationing in florida.

Hi gardenbear,
I have the bra problem too. I am a 38 nearly A. I have found that some 36A bra cups fit perfectly but are too tight and the straps are too short. If the cup fits I buy a bra extender and then I sew on extra elastic on the straps to make them longer. Hope you find one that is comfortable.

I have always been on the smaller side anyway ,but have found since starting the estrogel {2 pumps} a day the breasts have plumped up. I know when I also use the free weights I have built up the underlying pectoral which gives them more definition. I usually just go braless.
T.V and movies are made to make us feel bad. We are constantly exposed to women with a great set of implants and impossible skinney bodies.. It is really interesting to see old movies and to see how the body image has changed for women. The slut look is in and totally acceptable and desired.
When a Victorai Secret commercial comes on my husband gets up and leaves or closes his eyes. He knows how it all makes me rageful. He says he does it out of respect for me.
We are Real women and most of us will not have the money or want to go under the knife to fullfill some impossible fantasy. It broke my heart Gardenbear to think you were in the bathroom crying alone. Men get to be fat slobs lying on the couch with a beer and chips ,but we women are expected to look lie a Playboy centerfold. Not fair!
Best wishes!!

They are indeed!
I didn't realise how 'pert' my teeny tiny boobies were until they started to sag. I didn't know anything that small could sag!
I guess I would come out now as a 38AAAA, but I make do with a good M&S unwired padded bra, size 36AA, with a bra extender at the back. That's for when I want to look respectable because it shapes them to the socially acceptable norm. At home, I just go braless. It's much more comfortable.
It's a shame. They're dear little things but just not what our society sees as 'normal'.

Hello again, ladies! I just wanted to thank you all for sharing your stories and helping me to feel better about myself! I agree, the media does make us feel like we must live up to certain standards. In defense of my husband, he has really been very patient and understanding, trying hard to deal with all of my moods and emotions. He had NO CLUE that I was upset about what I saw on TV and I didn't say anything to him. I guess sometimes he is a bit oblivious! But he always tells me he loves me the way I am and that he is still attracted to me, which makes me feel good. I guess the shrinking breasts are just something I need to accept for myself. It just gets depressing when I go shopping and try things on and nothing fits me right! Sometimes I wonder if I will ever have any new clothes again!
