This might sound impossible but...

I had an endoscopy with a small amount of anesthesia in July. For the next day or so I had periodic spine pain that seemed to branch out into the nerves on both sides of the spine. I assumed it was just after-effects from the anesthesia since anesthesia acts on the nerves.

Well, here it is, six months later and I still get that same spinal pain, seems like nerves are involved, but the area involved seems to gradually be getting smaller. Someone once told me some medicines stay in your body for a long time.

Could I be dealing with sensitized nerves from that experience back in July? Does anesthesia (I've never had it before in my life - had natural childbirth) do this????

Thanks,
Helen

Dear Helen,

I am constantly amazed by the wonky things our bodies do.

If I were you, I would have a consult with a neurologist just to check things out. It seems to me that 6 months is a long enough time to be uncomfortable.

Let us know how you are doing.

Take good care,
Marcy
