My physician (internist) said okay to compounded hormones, but she only has two other patients who are currently using them as well. She doesn't feel I need referral to ob/gyn, and I haven't pushed back, yet. She put me in contact with a reputable compounding lab in Indiana, and I have been using compounded estrogen and progesterone for about a month and a half. I initially did salivary testing, but after reading this wonderful forum, think I might need blood work to get a more accurate reading of my levels. Could anyone give me any guidance regarding about how and when your levels are being monitored?
I am 52, menopausal for a little over a year, and happy to be on bioidenticals. My anxiety has abated, no more irrational anger, wild mood swings, and am beginning to feel like I do have some personal worth again. Oh, and best of all- I can sleep again! More energy too, just, little or no libido. My pharmacist assures me it will return . . .
Thanks ever so much!

Judymoody (maybe I'll just be Judy again)
