Is it possible to get a chronic yeast or some other type of vaginal infection that does not show any classic symptoms?

What symptoms are you having? You weren't very specific.
I never had a discharge with a yeast infection. I have had that burning feeling and also yeasty beasties in my bladder that would make me think I was having a bladder infection.
I have cut out sugar, malt, vinegar, and wheat from my diet and have been doing a lot better. I only eat raw cow cheese for dairy.
I had a compounding pharmacist do a consult with me once and he told me I had the second worse case of yeast he had ever seen.

Best Wishes !!

Yes I had suffered greatly and in a nutshell will tell you what really helped me. First you can buy REPLENS at walmart now some of the girls say it gives a slight pinkish discharge and that turned them away and thats fine. I was so bad I didnt care about that and it went away eventually.
Then I followed up with CALENDULA OINTMENT by hylands google it to see where you can find it.
I wont get into a long story but after suffering for years I now have relief its as though peri meno pause gets me extremely dry and itchy and burny etc etc.

Thanks Tink. I am currently using estrogen cream. Would someone like me do well to use Replens with it or just alone?

Hi Sharon, I am not having anything but burning and pain. I guess thats why my gyno didn't test for yeast, still, I think it has to be ruled out.

There are other types of vaginal infections, other than yeast. Some have to be treated with special anti-biotics..and should not be left untreated as the infection could move up into the uterous. It isn't common, but it does happen.

Cookie,

The horrible burning and pain I had was yeast related. My daughter remembers that summer as the one that I spent going to every doctor I could to get relief. I was prescirbed steroids, antibiotics and nothing worked. It was sooooooooo fustrating.
For me it was a holistic doc that believes in yeast that helped me out. She put me on a longer then what most doc's will prescribe Diflucan treament, change in diet and Calcium Citrate which has something to do with oxalates in your system.
I also believe for me it was the start of the hormonal change into peri menopause.
I met a nurse recently that had the problem and uses a compounded topical pain killer to her vaginal area. If you want the formula I can give it you personally.
I am sure you have been ruled out for anything bacterial right?

Best Wishes!

Now that is a good question and I am not a docter so you would have to either ask your doc or just do it alone that you have to decide.
I chose not to go with the hormone creams there is to much Ovarian cancer in my immediate family history with my mom, her sister etc.
I was given a presc. for the cream but chose not to take it . That doesnt mean people shouldnt do it that was my own personal decision but I am glad I chose it because the replens and the Calendula ointment fixed my problem 100% . I had to be patient because when doing natural remedies it can take a lil longer but actually with the Calendula it was almost immediate with me just in a weeks time.

Good luck ,
Google the ointment and the replens they you have to decide
