I have read a bit online today. Seems this is the norm with Yasmin at least, the lighter periods are what makes it so desirable. After 20+ years of nearly the same old same this just doesn't seem right ya know? Now have that underlying fear "WHAT IF I AM PREGNANT". Lol ohmy.gif That would be something nearly five years with my husband and no bc at all then go on bcp and end up pregnant. laugh.gif

I am flashing like crazy during this missed period. I have had a stiff lower back and bloating for 3 weeks. It ocmes and goes. The bloating is much better now but my back gets stiff in the afternoon. It is like a phantom period. Feel as though its going to appear and never does. Is the the same for others out there? Symptomatic during missed periods?

Thanks for your response. My lower back gas gotten betr but still this vague feeling in my abdomen as if something might happen soon. Of course I am now 10 days out from what should be my start date again and this is generally when I feel this way. Whew! PMS all month??? I usually experience at leats 2.5 weeks of relief from the worst symptoms. The hot flashes are starting to abate , only 2-3 per day now and they go away quickly. If only I could sleep!

When my period is late or skips, I, too experience an increase in hot flashes. Drives me crazy! And, yes, I feel crampy a lot of the time with lower back aches even though nothing is happening. I also feel very moody and on edge....like you said, PMS all month!

Thanks Gardenbear! It makes me feel better to know y'all are feeling like crap too. LOL Love you name. I assume you like to garden?

Hi, Provobabe! Glad I made you feel better! Misery loves company! That's why I joined this board! LOL!! At least I don't feel so alone with all my symptoms. It is comforting to know that others are going through some of the same things that I am; at least I don't feel like such an oddball! Hope you are feeling better. My cycle is so whacky, I dont' know what to expect any more. And, yes, I do love to garden! I can relax out there digging in the dirt! I'm ready for spring!

Hi Everyone,

This same thing has been happening to me. I skipped my period last month, felt like I was getting cramps, body aches and pains in my lower back. Nothing happened and it finally went away, now this month again I am late, and feel all the terrible PMS signs, and still no period. I guess our bodies go through the motions???

Last night, I felt awful. Felt so crampy and total PMS. I thought for sure this morning I would be facing my period at last, but NOT.....

My cycle is going crazy, I will be turning 50 this year! That must explain it!

Take care, Juliann

I had the same thing happen this last month. I have never skipped a period before and was convinced for a week I was about to start because of the bloating and crampy feelings. After about a week it went away. Three weeks later I had a period that was HEAVY. Interestingly, for the last two or three periods (since I have been paying attention to good days and bad days) my anxiety and "can't get a deep breath" feeling pretty much went away when my period started for about a week, then comes back. I can only assume hormones?

I all ready responded to this thread, but I am kicking it back up because I am going thru this very thing right now and need to vent to the only people in my life who can relate! My periods have been all over the map, averaging 23-26 days, give or take a few. I have missed a couple cycles. They are getting lighter for the most part, so maybe I am getting there. In Dec., I spotted for 2 1/2 weeks with an occasional "gush." My last period was Jan.6, if you call one "gush" and 2 days of spotting a real period. Since then, absolutely nothing. The last 2 weeks I have been having lots of hot flashes day and night, trouble sleeping, and now the cramps and back ache are kicking in, but no signs of any bleeding. Last night I had cramps so bad in spite of taking ibuprofen and I couldn't get comfortable and had a hard time getting to sleep. Of course I was playing the hot and cold game as well. I wish it would just hurry up and start all ready! Or maybe this is a phantom period. Either way, I am ready for these symptoms to go away! mad.gif Sigh......ok, I'm done ranting. For now, anyway. Thanks to anyone who's "listening!" Gardenbear

I am listening! In fact, I just indulged in a little rant of my own on another thread. Argh.

I so understand how you feel. I am almost 56 and I have had ENOUGH!! The other day I had cramps and abdominal distress and I was sure another period was on its way. Well, nothing since the end of December. I feel better now, but I am sick and tired of living on the edge. Will I need tampons? Will I flood through my clothes, unprepared? Will I be somewhere and suddenly feel like [deleted]. Grrr.

Oh my, that's a grrr and an argh. I'd better stop before I get out of hand.

Hanging in,
Marcy

I had very bleeding with my last period (on Yasmin) but wow my back ached like labor pains. I wondered if it was something to do with the BCP, but reading this makes me wonder if it isn't the whole missed/light period.

Well, I guess its safe to say that I can be included in this group, only a few more days left in this month left and no period for me either.... I'm 40 and soon will be 41..... It has had be kind of bothered or troubled not knowing what to expect... I have had a few cramps here and there and lower back pain. So if I don't start in the next few days I guess I will just have to take it as it comes..... Trying to remain positive, but its very hard at this phase of our lives.
