I am getting to the point where I just can't take the aches and pains anymore. I was able to rid myself of tension spasms by learning about mind/body stuff, but now I'm like so at peace with myself and yet I still have a sore achy back. I have two bulging discs but from everything I've read after awhile there would be no pain. I'm like in pain now going on 3 years and it seems its been mostly since I lost an ovary so I'm thinking it has to be the low estrogen/progesterone. I tried Progest for 3 months and I felt the pains were worse and I gained 5lbs (i'm on weight watchers so it was the cream). My FSH/LH were beyond postmenopausal range so I think that means my E/P are low???? It must be causing these pains. I am at a great weight, I exercise lightly (too much pain), stretch, and I'm like so spoiling myself to ease stress and here I sit another day in backache hell.

I'm taking Rhodiola every morning and that does help my mood and energy, but not the aches. Has anyone with aches found relief with hormone replacement, herbs, massage, accupuncture? Need some advice. I'm thinking I may try some bios for a few months but I'm scared about gaining weight, or getting worse symptoms. I've been holding out for 3 years on taking the HRT, but if it has helped women with aches/pains, I'm willing to try.

THanks. I'm going to sit on my shiatsu chair now. Peace!

Corky,

I went through a period with so many body aches that I literally just stopped exercising at all for an entire year. I felt the exercising was making things worse. Anyway, with time, all this has subsided quite a bit. I am not longer bothered with aches everywhere and all the time the way I was before and can exercise again. Time seems to be the best healer.

I saw a rhuematologist just to rule out anything else, and he has had lots of experience with women in this state due to hormonal fluctuations. His experience has been that even if you take hormones, they don't seem to help the aches and pains, so just passing this along. Of course, everyone is different.

No. no cracking for me. I know it helps many people, but I'm afraid I'll feel worse. It's like I'm in pain all the time but I manage to get around and what if I have a manipulation and I'm worse. I've heard many people over the years having worse problems after. They say that it helps them but then the pain comes back worse and they have to continue to see a chiro. Two people I know even had to go for surgery b/c of it.

I was hoping maybe a few people may have had help from accupuncture or herbal, Same-E, etc.

Right now I just got up and so far I'm okay. But then later it can just appear achy again and I have to just rest.

Thanks Zen. Love the name. I've been reading a log of Zen lately and feeling much calmer with myself.

Peace!

corky,

I realize we all have differing opinions concerning chiropractic care, but I have to say that with the right chiropractor, they really can make a world of difference in your overall well being.

Not saying they can "cure" everything, but because every nerve in your body stems off of the spinal cord, whenever your spine is out of alignment, that alone can affect many different bodily functions...........and yes, you may most likely require continued care because when a spine is out of alignment, one single adjustment is not enough to keep it in alignment. When your spine has been trained to follow a certain path, it will obviously try to continue to follow that path and it has to be retrained through repeated adjustments.

I can tell you that Chiropractic care helped me to sleep again after many years of walking the floor night after night after night.

I had to see my Chiropractor 3 times a week for about 3 months and he made a world of difference in my life.

No, not everyone's experience is the same, but I, myself, have to give 5 stars to the proper Chiropractic care!!!

rats, corky, sorry to hear you're still dealing with the pain. i've had about of month of relief from that symptom, but it really beat me up the prior month from that. i haven't found anything yet that really impacts it. i have noticed a slight pattern of easier cycle than hell cycle. & for me the pain seems to come when i also have constant breast tenderness. & it's not there when i have a good flare of acne going. whatever that means. or if it means nothing.

i've been trying to find some rosemary oil as that has helped a little in the past. good luck & let me know if you find something that works.

how are you doing otherwise?

pixiegirl,

this is a hopeful post. i'm glad that the body aches have subsided. i can't even fathom exercising when the stuff manifests really bad. then there are days were it is no problem. hope things continue to go well for you.
