Full Version: swollen eyes
Power Surge Forums > Board Discussions > Am I Starting Perimenopause?

Hi everyone. Wasn't sure where to post this, so thought this would be a good start. It looks like swollen things are listed as perimenopause symptoms; and I've had/have occasional swollen feet and hands, and such, but woke up today with both eyes swollen. I can still see and stuff, just very uncomfortable. I also have Hashimotos (Happy Thyroid Awareness Month) and am due for a retest, but have had another round of hormone related stuff going on again, so guessing its more peri? What do you do for quicker relief? I take fish oil, but maybe I should add more?

Thanks!

I wake up with the swollen eye thing too. Not always, but enough! And it is annoying. I know it is fluid retention around the eye area, and I would love to know how to stop it. It makes putting makeup on a challenge, plus I look like I spend the night crying! So any thoughts or ideas would be great!

Whenever I wake up with swollen eyes I always pat them gently with a washcloth soaked in very cold water. For me it always works - takes a few minutes but swelling does go down. I've tried the other methods - cucumber and tea bags - they didn't work for me but might be worth a try.

Thanks. I'll give it a try next time it happens....'cause it probably will dry.gif

I have had this my whole live. Allergies are a big culprit. I keep a teaspoon in the freezer and in the morning lightly pat the eye area with the frozen spoon. It works very well!
