Hi All,

Hot Flash or Flush?

Anyone experience one side of their face is on fire (cheek), much like what a rash would feel like - but also, both ears are burning????

Cheers

FIRE cheeks (both) and Ears!!! Sometimes my ears are so red they're almost purple. Very, very uncomfortable. The first times it would happen I would think RAGING FEVER and take my temp. It would be normal... Sometimes it would be 97.6!! Very strange. But we're not alone!! smile.gif

That is the first thing I thought of ... I felt like I had a fever, took my temp and it was normal, the one time it was below normal. I just can't believe how it goes away, comes back, goes away, comes back .... I am trying to figure out if there is a trigger for this one?!

Hi,

I get red in the face, but experience a pain, like skin pain or sunburn pain on the left side of my face only. This is triggered for me if I take just one sip of red wine. It's really weird!

Hi The Moll,

I too like you get very hot flushed cheeks. They feel like they are on fire.

My ears also get hot. I use concealer daily as my cheeks got really red and it looks like someone slapped me.

You can add me to the hot cheek list.

Coffee in excess, wine, or any type of alcohol, stress, upset, anxiety, all of those can trigger me to that very same feeling, although I have the bonus of looking in the mirror and all I get for the forest fire on my face is a mere blush on my cheeks.

This feeling does pass more as you stop your periods, but wait, there's more laugh.gif then you burn up all over in one foul sweep that usually lasts from a few seconds to 5 minutes. Even the full on flash does not make me appear reddened, and then I take my temp, and if anything, it's slightly below normal.

There is one consolation to this. Now and then I get a day where I have NO flashes. This does show that there is light at the end of the peri tunnel we are all caught up in. rolleyes.gif !!!

What you are feeling is a prelude to the real flashes, so if they appear to get stronger, don't get scared, just realize what it is, and try and breath your way through it.

Excercise also helps in keeping flashes under control. I don't know how or why, but it just does.

Take Care,
Viktoria
