Hi, I'm 37 in peri, or estrogen dominant, or something . . . and because of the severity of my symptoms I've been taking progesterone cream at approximately day 14 each cycle until the period starts. The last three months, a day or two before I start taking progesterone cream, the skin around my eyes becomes dry, red, swollen, and really burns. I've tried over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream around my eyes, again on the advice of my doctor, just in case it is contact dermatitis. It goes away after about a week. I'm strongly suspecting this is hormone-related because of the timing, and because I've never had sensitive skin or allergies ever before in the past.

I've looked through the site and didn't immediately see anyone else posting on this topic. I'd love to know if anyone else has experienced these symptoms, so I can file it under "hormone crap" and maybe begin the progesterone a little earlier in my cycle next month.

Thank you!!!!

Itching eyes started for me when I was about 30. They got worse when I entered peri. I would rub my eyes until my eyelids were raw. Now that I am post menopausal, the itching eye problem has tapered off. So it is entirely possible that it is hormone related.

Since my periods have quit I often get a runny nose to float me off my bed in the mornings. I don't have allergies.
