ohmy.gif Help!!!! I am finally getting my sex life back in order, am having orgasms, getting that vagina back to full size etc., but now, for cryin' out loud, I'm getting INTENSE pain that works up from the back of my skull to the top and sides of my head, just as I am reaching orgasm. And during orgasm the pain in my head is so bad I think it's going to explode! I have to really massage my scalp and move my head all around and relax and it starts to subside. I don't have high blood pressure or cholesterol so am baffled. This just started recently. I am not on natural progesterone tho had been but even the smallest 1/8 tsp dose was giving me hot flahses and breast lumps. I have estriol coming for tissure dryness and testosterone, all natural, but now after reading about testo and headaches and my already throbbing head.....has anyone had a similar experience? Maybe I'm just not used to all this sexual activity and orgasms? Too much too soon? Anybody?? I'm breathing deeply, no oxygen deprivation here, I try to relax the rest of my body coming up to orgasm but....it is like a "brain freeze" almost, when you eat something too cold. I'm 48 and in pretty good health, don't smoke, drink alcohol/drugs, don't eat red meat or really any meat besides a little chicken or fish....I'm so curious as to what this is...or do I really want to know....? unsure.gif

Hi there,
I had these types of headaches a number of years ago. I can sypmathise with you because they're extremely painful and throbbing. I only had a few and I do feel chiropractic treatment helped me get over them. I've had different sorts of migraines in my life and now they've changed yet again to a migraine without headache. Strange I know. Here's a website that gives a lot of information about different types of migraines and headaches. My girlfriend started getting them recently and she's been under a lot of stress so when she reaches orgasm, her neck muscles tense up even more and wham, headache from hell. Here's an idea, get your partner to give you a really good neck massage before you....well, you know, start!!!! If you're concerned though visit your doctor. Try not to worry, I understand they're very common.

Hope you get some relief!!

Who knew orgasms would bring on so much pain? I get the headache, and the painful spasms from deep inside 'down there'...I'm literally afraid to have sex these days. Did you try taking some ibuprofen 1/2 hour before hand? Sometimes benadryl helps too...

THANKYOU GABBY!!! I am going to check this out. Funny you should say chiropractor....I've been doing weightlifting and recently started focusing more on shoulder "shrugs" with weights in my hands, and other kind of neck/shoulder/arm involved exercises....hhhmmmmm...methinks you might be on to something...okay, so it's probably best to put those aneurysm fears on hold....and it DOES seem to be worse after I have lifted weights..hmmmmm...this doesn't bode well for trying to stick to my exercise routine...gee....non-flabby upper arms or orgasms????

Hi roundRobin! I'll try the ibuprofen next time! Ummm...listen, I can relate to the painful spasms thing, I just am celebrating my first pain free ( as far as spasms go) year after a bad pelvic floor injury in 2003 from a car accident. Besides physically hurting me, just the limb positioning and all, orgasm would bring on hideous painful spasms and a searing, burning not pleasant sensation. If you'd rather private message me about the details maybe we could compare notes and maybe I could help you. Beleive me, been there and done that with the pelvic floor thing. It is devestating and can affect walking, sitting, standing, peeing, well, you name it, pain is pain and no fun....

You poor Girl....... Why do there have to be so many symptoms with this perimenopausal stuff?
Its PMS ROYALE GRANDE FINALE......... and I think there are more than 34 symptoms!
Hope you feel better soon!!

If it were me, I'd stick with whatever put a smile on my face!!! Also, try rubbing some anti-inflammatory gel on your neck. That might help.
I'd be interested in how you're getting on. Keep in touch

That would be horrid! I really feel for you. I don't get the headaches, but I get massive hot flashes with orgasm and for a while after. Occasionally, I have had heart palps too, but I ignore them and keep on with whatever. But for the headaches, perhaps keep a box of soluable aspirin by the bed and let it dissolve under your tongue for quick absorbtion. I know it isn't very romantic, but it may help.....that is presuming you can take aspirin.

I hope this improves for you!

Headaches during/after orgasm are tell-tale signs of a true migraine. And of course, migraine is a tell-tale sign of hormonal fluctuation/low estrogen!! Even men have the terrible headache during orgasm if they suffer from migraine.

I can relate to this!! Touch wood!! I used to have a migraine within 10mins of having an orgasm!! It went on for about 2years, I was too scared to even contemplate starting anything incase a migraine was triggered off! This time was actually around the time my periods really started to slow down, as you say missy, estrogen is low. Now I've gone through and haven't had a period for 1 & 1/2 years, hopefully that part is over!! I have had migraines bought on by other factors just hope the orgasm ones are finished!!

Cheers choco

I used to get the same type of migraine from bicycling uphill. When the blood pressure increases from exertion, migraine prone women may get these sudden pounding head pains if they are not are taking enough estrogen. I even had an MRA scan of my brain, I was so worried, but estrogen cured me of these.
