I agree with those who said "wear your hair the way it looks best and you feel best". I've had my hair long, short, and in-between. Right now it's long, well past shoulders and getting longer. It's curly, but not kinky..sort of long, ropy curls. And I like it! Think of Sharon Stone, think of Jane Seymour..Two extremes but both look GREAT.

Hi, everyone! Just passing through and I wanted to respond to this thread. I truly think that there are some women who look absolutely adorable with short, styled hair and by the same token, there are some who look very appropriate with longer locks. I personally have always admired those lovely ladies who can wear their hair short.

I myself have very long, curly red hair. When I was a little girl, my hair was a very fiery red, and now that I am at the age of biggrin.gif my hair is more of a coppery-sometimes-strawberry-blonde short of shade. (In the summertime, the red gets sun-streaked. cool.gif ) I go to the salon to get micro-trims and every six months or so I have color-restoration. wink.gif (I have to add here that my hubbie actually applies the color and he does a magnificent job! I have always figured if he can paint cars, he can surely paint my hair!! smile.gif By some miracle, I do not have any gray hair - yet, anyway. My dad was a redhead, and his redheaded sisters have all gone sort of pink as they age.

I do not know when I will decide to cut my hair short. I think by keeping it long, I am holding on to a bit of my youth - and I get very lonely for my youth at times.

Love to everyone!! Belinda

Sharon Stone and Jane Seymour would look great even if they were bald!

And the most beautiful hair on Earth will never make an ugly woman into a pretty one.

Which reminds me, I think I'll copy Sharon Stone's picture and tape it onto my paper bag today. I'm getting tired of drawing happy faces with a crayon, and I want to look good for my husband when he comes to see me tonight!

I have had long hair most of my life. Many times I had thought that perhaps I should get it cut because of my age-I'm 46. But I thought why should age determine your hairstyle. Besides long hair was "me." Another thing held me back from getting a more "mature" hair style was that my mom just loved my long hair and I feared that if I cut it she would be rolling over in her grave!
This past August I was fed up and couldbn't take it any longer. The spontaneous person that I am, I drove into my hairdresser and had her hack off 4 inches and thin it out. And with no warning to my family I had it cut again a few weeks later. This time another four inches! It is now shoulder length, alot lighter(I had her thin it out ALOT).
The problem is when I want a pony tail--.

It sounds like you have GREAT HAIR!! Getting it thinned out and all.... Why don't grow your hair and donate it to Cancer victims? I cant imagine having hair that thick and strong! I actually buy hair extensions to fill my hair out. Good hair during peri is a blessing!!! Do you even know what a BAD HAIR DAY IS? Just kidding........ just a suggestion.

HI all

I had long hair until I was in my early twenties and then the 80s happened and I went really short, very short, which I liked. Kept it short for speed and practical reasons with a young family and work commitments and now it is long again and I really like it. It makes me feel feminine and at this time in my life that's a plus.

the elder.....I share your approach, it's my hair and if people don't like it don't look tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Hi, I have had a bob for years, before Victorai Beckham made it fashoinable again!

I had my long hair cut off when I was 12 - I could sit on it and since then I have been short short short, longish to my shoulders and in between bobs of a variety of lengths.

What I would say though is short hair - ie you cannot tie it back is more high maintenence than my longer styles. It you get out of bed looking like an ewok then you have to do something with it. If you can tie it back you don't, you can just twist it up, put in a clip and away you go.

I have though all my life never covetted long hair, all those models in the eighties, my era I suppose, who had big long "do's" I think put me off, so much hair spray and I am one for minmal hair effort I must confess. I know men find it sexy but who are we just to conform because a man says we have to.

Wear your hair as you want it, how it works for you and makes you feel, long, short or in between, it's your life and with fashoins being so flexible nowadays without everyone having to have the same hair or clothes it is a nice time to be able to do our own thing.

My only wish with my hair is that I could color the grey darker so I could take 10 years off me. ohmy.gif

Hi, I seen this post and had to reply as I have several movie stars I absolutley love, one is Diane Cannon who is some where I think in her late 60's early 70's LONG HAIR!! still gorgeous, now could you ever imagine Cher with a Bob?!! it is a rule of thumb I guess, what is the facial structure and is the hair in great shape! I am 55 and still have my long locks, not waist long but shoulder long, and layered,I would look awful in a bob !! maybe when I am in my 70's I will go short and punk it up then!! not now though , it would be like chopping off a dear friend!!! I think you can look fabulous at any age, it is the attitude not the locks!!!

So I decided to grow my hair out again. It's at my chin now, and I have to say, I'm loving this length!

I realized an added bonus to cutting my hair really short, is that now I can gradually let it grow and see what length I prefer to have it. Also, it's growing back healthier then ever before. I must tell you, I'm looking forward to having a little piggy-tail smile.gif

Well Hi Ladies

I have very fine and thin hair....lucky me eh? Well, I have tried to grow it long over the past ten years and it just starts to drag me down and take a ton of time to deal with in order for it to look good. I decided to liberate myself! I went to a really cute layered cut aka Lisa Rinna style and just love it...so far! I have to say my hair looks so much better and FULLER with the layers. It got rid of the damaged inches that I was holding on to for length. I think changing my look has helped give me a new boost of confidence, especially at work since I used to have to pull my hair back into a stupid little clip, which was NOT a flattering look for me whatsoever!! Too harsh for my features. Now I have enough to play with if I want and spike up, smooth out or just get up and go natural and the cut works for my lifestyle. I really wished for a long time that I could have the long beautiful hair that I had in my 20;s but I'm so glad that I took the plunge for a new look at this point in my life!

Do whatever works for you! You might just be pleasantly surprised!!!
