My cholesterol is too high so my doctor has started me on Zetia. I have been having cholesterol issues for the past 2 years and have been on Welchol and Crestor , both of which caused muscle aches and pains as well as weakness. My doctor is trying me on Zetia now to lower my numbers, but I'm leary to take even this for fear of having another recurrence of those symptoms. Has anyone been on Zetia, and if so have you had any side effects?

I've been on Zetia for a couple of months with no problems. I had been on Lipitor for several years with no side effects until this past spring when bloodwork showed my liver enzymes thru the roof. I stopped taking it immediately and my dr. did a bunch of other tests for my liver which came back fine. The levels went back to normal after a couple of months and my cholesterol started going back up, but now it's going back down. I've only ever had the muscle aches, etc when I took Boniva!
