What an awful night. I'm five years post with a resurgence of symptoms after a stressful summer. I didn't sleep at all, laid awake counting muscle twitches...making myself more and more anxious.

Today I am just totally stressed and sleep deprived. I don't take anything but Vitamins C and E. I have reactions to everything.

When does this end? I'm 59!

Oh Helen, dear, I hear you loud and clear!!! Many, many sleepless nights these days. I try to do something productive when I see that I'm in for one of 'those' nights. Just laying there in bed drives me crazy; I'll work myself up into all sorts of worries...focusing on every little palp and twitch.

I have actually gotten up and cleaned the kitchen floor, surfed the internet, crocheted and watching infomercials. We have 24 hour grocery stores here and once I went shopping at 3 am...it was weird; I was the only one in the store...no waiting in lines!

Hi Helen,

I am 55, have no ida whether I am post or not (I had a quadruple period in October after nothing for 18 months...), and wake up at least once every night. Lately, I have been awakening drenched in sweat and freezing at the same time.

I see a psychiatrist for both medicine and talk therapy. One of the best pieces of advice he gave me over my long, long haul was not to lile in bed awake. He recommended that I get up and do something, anything. Read, watch television, do stretching exercises, whatever. He says that lying in bed focusing on being awake is entirely counter-productive. I have found that he is soooo right.

I have made lasagna and baked an applesauce cake in the middle of the night. Somehow, I always fall back to sleep again.

I hope your issue is fleeting. Please let us all know how you are doing.

Smiles,
