I am hoping someone can help here. I am fairly new to using Relens for vaginal dryness. Doe anyone else use this and find a cottage cheese/white clumpy type discharge afterward? I have had this happen - even after having stopped the Replens for a week! It is not pink tinged as I've read posting by other women here. I do not think it's a yeast infection, as I was just treated for that not long ago. I did not have the discharge at the time of the yeast infection diagnosis. Any help you can give me is much aapreciated as always. thank you.

I think it's a yeast infection.

I tried Replens a few weeks ago and had this type of discharge, even a few days, most noticeable following intercourse! I think there was too much build-up and stopped using it, as it obviously didn't get absorbed that easily. I had the pinky discharge after I'd stopped using it for a couple of weeks, so I'm not sure if it is related to the Replens or not.

yes it happens to most everyone who uses it, it is not an infection. replens claims it is your vaginal cells being exfoliated. personally I think it is just the dried up replens coming back out. vaginal cells aren't white but replens is. when it happened to me it looked like clumps of untoasted breadcrumbs. it was disgusting. they claim it will stop after a while if you keep using it, but it didn't stop for me. if you read the reviews of replens on drugstore.com you will see it didn't stop for a lot of other women either. replens was the worst of all the mositerizers/lubricants I ever tried, and the most disgusting.

Well I have been using it for almost a year now. At first the discharge was orange, then pink. then clumpy but I kept going with it because I wasnt allowed any hormone treatment.
If you keep going with it the discharge becomes no more than a normal vaginal discharge would be before meno.
I use it every other day and I find it fantastic!
The secret is to use it often.
If I forget to use it for a few days then the pink starts to come back.
All it does is to clear out your body's own cells. The white clumps are just that. Replens is just a watery jelly.

kathleen hi

my doc prescribed Replens a couple of months ago and I also had the discharge afterwards. A swab was clear for any infections so for me it must have been the after-effects of using the Replens.

Thank you all so much for your replies! They're most helpful to me and reassuring, as I found it strange to not have any vaginal itch/itch discomfort while I had the "breadcrumbs" (what a good description!) like discharge. Do any of you recommend other vaginal mositureizers that have worked better than Replens? Thanks again, Kathleen

The white bread crumb thing happened to me the other day. I've been using the product for quite some time and never had this happen before. Unfortunately it happened during sex and we were unable to finish (that way) it was really uncomfortable. Although I used it within an hour of having sex so maybe that had something to do with it. I'm going to keep trying and see what happens.

How often do you use it?
I found that every other day is a good regime and I always use it at night even though the leaflet recommends first thing in the morning. If you use it then it all comes out straight away!
It took a looong time before the breadcrumb thing stopped. I first had a bright orange discharge then it went pinky then the clumpy white stuff.
Now I dont get anything other than a tiny bit of normal discharge-thin and clear.
I did use Vagifem in the past which is a local estrogen treatment and that can take up to 3 months before a good result is achieved, so I cant see why anyone should expect a non hormonal treatment to work that quickly.
I recommend persistance because all the nasty stuff will stop given enough time
