My doctor just prescribed the Estring for me. I'm worried about the estrogen. Does anyone have any experience with the estring? I was hoping maybe I could find something natural instead--I;m feeling overwhelmed at all the info out there, I just don't know what is best. I feel dry and it burns down there. I'm also worried about my husband...I just don't feel like having sex and I feel bad. I feel like I'm letting him down. We still have sex, but not as much as we used to, I'm so dry, its not that enjoyable for me anymore. I'm afraid he will find somebody else, which is stupid because I know he loves me, but I just don't feel sexy anymore. Is the estring safe for men--I mean to be in contact with it? Sorry for venting or stupid questions, I just don't have anyone to talk to about this. I've never heard of this problem before. Thanks for any help!

whoops don't know what happend in the first post! Anyway I used the estring for a long time and it was great...no effects except good ones ....don't worry about the estrogen that ring doesn't get into the bloodstream....it was very worthwhile for me for a long time....give it a try. There are some article on this site about it I think you should search for them....pretty sure one of the guest speakers talked about this...look in the transcripts.

I haven't used the estring but I do use vaginal estradiol which is what is in the estring. I have heard some women complain that the ring falls out, and some complain that they or their husband can feel it durring sex, so I chose not to go that route. I use the cream instead.
Yes it is safe for him to have sex with you. The only risks are to you. There is slight increased risk of uterine cancer from using estrogen, and also if you use it for more than 5 years there is an increased risk of breast cancer but I imagine your doc discussed that with you. A very minimal amount does get into your bloodstream.
I know what you mean about being so dry you can't even enjoy it anymore. The estrogen works fairly quickly so you will be enjoying it again soon.
