HI all,
I am just wondering if this is part of a hotflash or my own anxiety or some other sensation of peri.

I posted on the anxiety forum about this a few weeks ago. It happened again last night almost the same time in my cycle but not quite.

I know you really can't tell me for sure...I can only pray that when I go on BHRT that it goes away.

I will get this off feeling very suddenly everything looks strange, I feel a bit spacey and my head feels funny and I feel detached. last night I got warm briefly then I started to shiver and shake I turned up the heat and within 1 min. I was hot again and turned down the heat. My heart was pounding a bit. Sounds like an axiety attack, but they feel like they have never felt before something is different about them. I have had anxiety attacks before very infrequently ( I mean years apart) until now.

I first had this odd feeling back last Oct. 2006 when I was having major hotflashes for the 1st time and dizziness and fatigue. This about the time peri seemed to become more obvious and really hit hard. So with this I relate it to peri. , but part of me can't help but wonder why I am really getting it and is it really related or am I just going over the deep end and in desprate need of mental health help. My husband tries to assure me, but we know how far that goes at times with our thoughts running wild.

I said I would love to do a meno. commercial and be realistic for those out there who get hit hard, that a hot flash doesn't mean just heat..they should talk about the host of other sensations that accompany them and they make us believe that the only real symptoms of meno, is hotflashes, insomnia, and vaginal dryness. That is a tad misleading considering alot feel like thier bodies are falling apart.

Enough of that rant...I am just wondering if adrenal rushes is part of a hotflash or just anxiety, maybe this feeling isn't an adrenal rush. I have just been trying to find some rhyme or reason to it since it is happening more. HUGS MIkki

I have had the feeling you describe as well. It began a year or so ago - I chalk it up to panic attacks. Definitely not fun.

I feel the same way. Just these last couple of months i feel a surge of adreneline or so i thought. It was happening on the 10-13 day of my cycle. I went to the ob/gyn and told him how i would have panic attacks around the same time every month. He told me that's when i ovulate and have a surge of estrogen. I'm 46 and my life has been pretty crappy with all these fluctuating hormones.

He handed me anti depressants and sent me on my way.

I think i'm going to look for another doctor.

Then i got chills.I got this way on cycle and before cycle. Its scary. I think is adrenaline rushes or panic attacks. Wish you the best. Terry

Hi sunflower,

Sure sounds like a panic attack to me.....I always get the weird detached, spaced out, dizzy feeling with a panic attack. I didn't know what they were either for the longest time! When I was having the REAL BAD anxiety/panic attacks I would get really shaky too, sometimes so bad my teeth would chatter...luckily I didn't have them like that often, they were totally debilitating!! I got Ativan to help with the anxiety and panic, and I take Paxil..which for me is a good thing, as it brings the anxiety way down and I don't feel so hopeless about all this! I also take the vits and am looking into BHRT....I will try anything at this point, to feel well again!!

I wouldn't worry about it being some strange disease....it sounds like meno to me!! Good luck and keep visiting us here!!

Amen to that! I also used to get strange feelings preceding a hot flash. I would think I was going to have a panic attack, but then the heat washed over me and the panic feeling subsided. A few minutes later I would feel OK again. There is definitely a lot going on physiologically sometimes with hot flashes I suspect, which produces more than just a feeling of heat.
