Hi Everyone,
I am new here and I am so glad I found this site! It is such a relief to know I am not alone. I will be 41 in a few weeks and for the past three months my cycle has been odd. Shorter periods, with one or two very heavy days (bright red blood, clots, all the fun stuff). Other symptoms include nausea, bowel issues, temperature fluctuations (too hot or cold sweats), trouble sleeping, and my anxiety is off the charts! I have endometriosis and went through fertility treatments (up to IUI with injectables, but no IVF). I did not get pregnant (it's okay, we will likely adopt). Anyway, these issues started right after I ended the fertility treatments. Coincidence?

It was so strange the first time that I actually thought I might be pregnant so I went to the doctor and the test was negative. Now, this month, my breasts got very sore about 10 days after my last period. I got my period two days ago, and my breasts are still sore! It is very uncomfortable. My doc says I might have an ovarian cyst or it might just be "fluctuating hormones." But I am seeing a pattern develop here of a new kind of cycle for me. I do have an appt with my RE next week. But until then, what do you think? Does this sound like perimenopause or am I nuts? Anyone else get the tender BBs?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice! smile.gif

I've always had some form of BB's , but started a few months ago, they'll feel huge, heavy and sore. It comes and goes, and haven't tracked it close enough, though last cycle it hung around after my period started. My cycles are also getting shorter, and my regular symptoms have turned into a free for all. Had a CT scan this summer, and was all clear, so it certainly sounds like peri-fun. Have recently started vitex and trying to cut down on caffiene, so we'll see if it helps. Those hormones can certainly be pesky!

Dear Emme, it sounds like total peri, you are having all the classic symptoms which I have had as well. Try evening primrose oil or progesterone cream, it helps with the breast discomfort and the other delightful symptoms as well, good luck!
