anyone out there had partial hyst and dealing with all this with no periods?

Hi Flash,

I'm having a lap hyst in Jan. I hope others respond to this call, as I'm curious, too.

What's happening with you? Are you still fluctuating as if you were in cycle? I guess you would be if they didn't take out your ovaries. What type of hyst did you have?

Are there good things about it?

Peace and Love,
Brinks

Hello Brinks, mine was an emergency, an ectopic pregnancy . I've had symptoms for several years, headaches, depression anxiety, aches etc. The good thing obviously is no more periods but kinda confusing with not knowing when the cycle is taking place. the symptoms are here and there no pattern. So frustrating.

why are you having your hyst?

Hi Flash,

I've had flooding periods for about 2 years, the past year every 2 weeks with durations of 10-14 days. Well documented on the Chit-chat thread. Went to the doc in search of an ablation, vag ultrasound showed huge fibroids, ablation is no longer an option.

The laparoscopic hyst is a fairly new procedure that preserves the cervix and ovaries, and is done with three small incisions. I manage a very busy family owned chocolate shop, so I asked to wait until Jan for the surgery. I had a biopsy of the endometrial lining to ensure that there is no cancer present, have that consult on the 13th, then hopefully, no more prods, tests, and discussions until after the holidays.

I would imagine that the cycle issues would continue and would be confusing. I have had so many periods that my cycle is nuts. Maybe once the uterus is removed along with the fibroids, the ovaries will calm down just a bit. To my body, I have a foreign object in my uterus, thus I cramp and flow all the time.

Am on Yaz right now to get me through. Not happy about it, but though I am having breakthrough bleeding, it's not as bad as before.

Hope others will respond to this and we'll hear more stories of HOPE!

Peace and Love,
Brinks

I've been looking around for that answer for a couple of my Friends that had partials. It appears that one of them does notice a cramping (ovulation)...she has started a diary based on that cramping and is marking that as her mid cycle to see if her symptoms are coming before or after and exactly what the symptoms are that remain consistent. I can imagine it must be so difficult to have to *re-learn* your Body at this stage in the game but imagine that with determination it can be done.
