My dilemma, Have been on several combinations in last 2 years and just cant feel good. Wanted to go back to what I was on for first 6yr. ( felt good then) That being 1.25 of ogen and 10mg of provera for 10 days.Dr. talked me into the ogen with 100mg prometrium ever night before bed. Started the ogen ( was on the combipatch for last 3 months, period every 2 weeks as always with continuous) this is my 4th day of ogen. Day one was really bad withdrawl and had to take tranxene to get through it. Day two was bad but not as bad, with the tranxene I was still able to work. The Pharmacist said there was a big differance in the estrogen from the combi to the ogen. Last  night I decided to start the prometrium ad dont mind saying that I am scared to death. I am just not sure what to expect, I never had any trouble with the provera or the progesterone in the combi but for some reason I am scared of the prometrium.I am still not sure what to expect with cutting my estrogen down, I just thought that maybe not feeling well had to do with to much estrogen. I did not even know that it had been raised, and was very upset when I found out but to late now its been almost 2 years. Dr. raised my progesterone in the combi because of bleeding and I almost lost my mind ( it was really awful) I didnt realize untill then that progesterone had side affects, I thought it was just the estrogen. Woman whom have had surgery dont even take progesterone so I never thought much about it, I know I have to take it but now I am scared. Dr. said I would have no side affects but I have read otherwise. Anyone out there that can give me any inputt? I was going to go off of estrogen and progesterone, dr. told me to just stop it, but after 8 yrs. I was afraid to just stop. Hope this all makes sence, Thanks All

Hi, Janel!  I just wanted to say that I learned, several years ago, from Power Surge, not to just stop HRT.  You need to wean off slowly.  I made a plan for myself, which I know I wrote down somewhere.  I'll post it when I find it.

It involved taking the estogen 6 days out of 7, then 5 of 7 and so on until I was doing 1 day of estrogen out of 7 with nothing.  I took the progesterone every day until I was completely off the estrogen.

I'm going to see if I can find my exact "schedule" in case you'd like to give it a try.

Thanks MaryO, did you have alot of side affects? I am not feeling real well but not sure if it is going down on my estrogen or the prometrium, or if it might even be my imagination smile.gif Am a big baby when it comes to change, have had alot of trouble in my life with anxiety and panic attacts.

Hi Janel - yes, weird - I did post a reply, and it showed up initially, then next time I checked in - my post had disappeared. How is it you know I posted - did you see it briefly before it disappeared? I don't have a copy of what I wrote, but I will try to rewrite it, or email you directly as soon as I have a few minutes. Talk to you soon.Michelle
