Full Version: FSH High, Am I actually in menopause?

I went for my annual exam on Monday. My uterus was larger than last time so GYN did a ultrasound. The one fibroid I had has doubled in size and I have another one about the same size. Last ultrasound was about 18 months ago. I did have a follicle cyst on my ovary but they said that was normal. My lining was 10 mm thick and I am overdue for my period but I have no signs of starting except for cramps and water retention which is normal for me. GYN called yesterday and according to my FSH I am in menopause blink.gif What does this mean? Am I finished? If so then why is my lining still 10 mm thick? Why am I cramping like this? I had a normal period in August then 15 days later had a little what I call a mini period, spotting a couple days, light bleeding for one and then a couple more days of spotting. I will add that I have spotted 5-7 days before my period for 2-3 years now.

Any experiences or insight on this would be appreciated.

My endometrium was also thick and I also have a Fibriod on the endometrium as well. Mine was stimulating the endometrium to bleed but it wasn't shedding. From what I understand (understood) is that a Fibroid (Myoma) can really play with the Hormones. I did a 10 day hormone therapy and by the 3rd day I was bleeding and clotting like crazy, the shedding of the built up endometrium,as planned by the Dr.,then a 2 month hormone therapy (progesteron mix I think) to get me back in order.
I have no idea if this could be related to you but may be worth a question to the Dr.
I also had spotting 3 day before my period, brown gook, and terrible cramps. Since this therapy I'm back in order.
Please post back and let us know the outcome, if it truely is the begining of the end for you!!!
Good luck,
