Jeez, if it's not one thing, it's another. I found this red bump on my left breast. It looks like a blind pimple, but I"ve never had one there (???) It's reddish, and about 1 cm in diameter. Is this a skin-thing, or should I be calling my doctor?

What is a "blind" pimple?

You've never had one? It's kind of like when a pimple is in the early stages...you can feel a little hard lump just below the skin but it doesn't have a head (ugh) on it. Sometimes they go away, sometimes not. But I"ve never had one on my breast...so I'm just a little bit worried. It's probably a skin infection of some kind (also seems weird...I take about 3 showers a day and am fanatical about wearing clean bra's...)

I have had a bump like that on my breast before, and it eventually just went away. When I sweat lately, it ALWAYS seems to be on or between the breasts. Weird, huh? SO I notice that I tend to break out there occasionally. My theory is, if it worries you, have it checked out to give yourself a piece of mind. But I'm sure it's just what you think it is, a blind pimple. And those little buggers can be SUCH a nuisance!
HUGS!

Kleeo: Thank you! You're such a sweetie. You're absolutely right...whenever I sweat or get hot flashes, it's always my breasts that perspire. I have an appointment with my gp tomorrow (for this stomach bug which I have now had for FOURTEEN days---) and I'm going to show it to him...

ohhhhh ... so that's what "blind" is. lol I didn't know they had a name for the specific types of zits. Glad you will be going to the doctor anyway so that it gets looked at, but it seems like Meryl's diagnosis is probably the correct one. lol

Robin, its just a blemish, pimple, etc. I get them from time to time, sometimes they stay for a long time, but its just superficial and topical. Dont worry yourself.

Robin, I had a "boob zit" (love that! lol) on my left breast last week. With everything that is going on with me right now, I was convinced it was further proof that I'm done for. It has faded now and is almost gone. I think it was just a zit.

Actually, upon reflecting on this, I think it should be called a t*t zit!

Saw that someone bumped this thread up. Yup, the strange bump went away. I have a new rule: if I develop a new symptom, I'm going to assume it's nothing unless it lasts for more than 2 weeks. I think someone here on power-surge wrote about this--I didn't invent it. The Two Week Test. Might just help my sanity...

Guess it's my turn to have one of these. Of course with my anxiety I think the worst. I will wait for a week or 2 before seeing a doc about it. It's on the inside near the cleavage point. Honestly, I think it's a pimple of sorts.
What type of doctor do I see???? A gyno, my dermatologist or a family doctor?
