The last three days have been pretty bad. I've been taking penicillan for a tooth that will be pulled on Tuesday--some infection and decay going on. And then of course I get my period--about a week late, but of course in peri, who really knows when it'll show up? It lasted one day. OK--about a day and 5 hours. This is really unusual for me. And then I started to get the worst aches and pains and stomach upsets and a little jaw pain--is this related to a really strange period--or the stupid tooth--or both? The aches and pains are in my arms and breast and back--lower back also--and I just feel "blah." The only upside of this is I have little to no appetite!
As always, I appreciate any and all input. We ARE a comfort to each other!
Thanks-
BJ

Forgot to add--I've also been having the worst hot flashes/sweats of my life this past week. Just drenched by doing next-to-nothing.

Infected teeth and antibiotics make me feel pretty bad. It's never over for me until the tooth has been pulled and the socket has heeled.

About the hotflashes. Stress always made my symptoms worse--physical or emotional--didn't matter. Infected teeth cause stress and even the thought of the next dentist appointment causes me stress. Did you get any pain medicine for that tooth? That should help a bit until the infection is killed.

Yep--he gave me some darvocet which I've taken here and there. My anxiety is on "high" right now--I'm like you--can't stand the dentist--and I was afraid of a drug interaction with my beta blocker (even though the pharmacist said it would be fine). Didn't realize that stress would make the hot flashes worse. That's nice to explain away. Thanks!

It could be that the penicillin is upsetting the natural flora in your gut and causing some distress in that area. Plus, an infected tooth can shoot nasty pains pretty much all over the neck, face and head. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Thanks. It was pulled this morning--my cheek and jaw are REALLY sore. Certainly keeps me from thinking about ANYTHING peri-related!
