I have had on and off vaginal itchiness and only 1 previous yeast infection (I am 41). I have had a little of that lately. Anyway, on Friday when I went to the restroom (sorry to get so decriptive) and wiped it felt like there was a sore spot. Out came the mirror as I have had those stupid ingrown hairs before where I ended up plucking the hair and squeezing the pus but this is in a different spot. There is a pea sized pimple type thing on my labia minora (inside). I hurts to squeeze it. I have read about something called a Bartholin Cyst but from what I read those usually happen to young women in their 20's. It hasn't grown any bigger and hasn't come to a head. I have soaked a couple times in a hot bath and either put neosporin or cortisone cream on it. Any ideas ladies? Can you get a pimple there?

The things we endure as we age! Do you think our doctor's ever get tired of us talking about these sorts of things? I don't think I could ever be a Gyn and look at that stuff all day! LOL

Thanks!

Steph, that's just a skin cyst. It will eventually pop and go away. I promise! It's nothing to worry about.

Hi Steph-
Yes it does happen and it will go away. I noticed one (same symptoms as yours) it was so different than an ingrown hair type pimple. Located exactly where you describe yours. It worried me so I made an appointment with doctor. Couldn't get in for 3 weeks. I continued to check it, never got a head on it or anything. Sometimes it was sore after sex. Without being too graffic... I just got agressive with it the week before I went to the doctor. It was a bit painful but I took care of it myself. Never came to a head but it responded the same way (and then several drops of blood). Yuck. Anyway that was my experience. Hope yours is as benign as mine was.

I saw my Gyno today for my regular yearly checkup and I asked him about this stupid thing. He said, "we see those all the time and in fact just saw one last week." He told me basically it is a sebaceous cyst and should go away on it's own. If it doesn't they can remove it but that is sorta painful. I guess then it is really just a pimple. Lovely, huh! It isn't as sore as it was so maybe it is going away on it's own.

Thanks for the input ladies!

Do you ladies ever wonder just how old you have to be before you stop getting pimples?? laugh.gif I wonder this at least once weekly!

I have had what you are talking about once before, and yes, it hurts, but it will likely go away. I think it is just like one of those cysts you might get on your face occasionally that just never comes to a head.

Ladies,

I recently have been plagued with cystic type acne. The ones that get hard with no head. Had one on my chin, my neck and my chest...plus one in the pubic area. Now I have one near my ear. My dermatologist gave me some medicine to calm down the "inflammation" as he put it and some topical gel. I never had acne even as a teenager and have only had one other cyst in my entire life. I don't understand why all of this is happening to my body at once. I feel like everything aches, tingles, twitches or hurts..or it's too dry, burns and waters...or its a new lump or bump and all of it is driving me crazy!!!

I had very little acne as a teenager esp. not the cystic type. It started when I was in my 20's. I am now 41 and have been on everything under the sun with the exception of Acutane. I recently went to the dermatologist and he rx'd $600 dollars worth of meds. Yup that is what I said $600 dollars. My insurance s*cks. We have a $4,000 deductible and must pay for all meds. Just a months supply of the antibiotic would cost me $400. Well I am not about to do that. Besides I hate being on antibiotics long term. I tried another route and saw another doctor (at my gyn's office), they have a face clinic now, and she suggested I try Obagi Clenziderm. It has benzoyl peroxide in it. They claim it penetrates to the pores, unlike over the counter stuff. Anyway, I used it for the first time last night and the painful cyst, that had erupted the day before. isn't painful anymore. My face is a little red but hey if it works, I will live with that. Long story short, I could end up on bc pills like Yaz in the future but I hope not. The Clenziderm kit was $118 but far from the $600 the derm rx'd.

I have always looked younger than my age and always tell people it's the acne! LOL It is like I go through puberty all the time. LOL I can only dream of the day I am acne free! biggrin.gif
