Has anyone experienced an increase in broken capilaries on your face? I was just noticing that I have a lot more than ever. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use to get rid of or at least diminish their appearance???

I have some of these (medically, they're known as telangiectasia). You can have laser treatments to shrink them, or just use makeup to cover them up. Welcome to middle age. wink.gif

I have some of them too. Plus Rosecea. I cover them up with makeup. One even looks like an ink mark on my cheek. Yeah it stinks to get old!!!! I want to be 16 again!!!!! sad.gif

yep, I have them too along with the rosacea. I think the only way you can get rid of them is to get them lasered by a derm. I haven't found a makeup yet that works with my skin so I don't do anything to hide it.

I have more. Topical Vitamin K takes some of the effect away, but you have to apply it daily. I found some in the cosmetics section of a health food store. It reduced the effect, didn't take it all away.

I made an appt with a dermatologist about mine. I certainly don't have extra money for these kinds of things, but I was surprised at how inexpensive the laser treatment was that she said would take them away... I'm a little spooky about this, but I made an appointment. She's also going to take off a few age spots that I've picked up because I haven't been good about wearing sunscreen.

As far as I could understand, the capillaries are a congenital thing; which means that more will come in a few years. I don't have any recommendations about all this...I'm my own guinea pig, and I admit am a little nervous about it...what if she zaps the age spot and gets the skin pigment too?? blink.gif

Does anyone have a favorite concealer?

It seems to me I remember someone saying that Preparation H can shrink them up.

A report-in: I did have that laser treatment for the capillaries and age spots. The capillaries disappeared immediately (woot!) and the age spots are darkened now, but in time I'm told will slough off. Recuperation varies, but now on day 3 I look pretty normal, except for those age spots...they might take a week to 10 days to go. You can cover with concealer. I did full makeup today & it really does cover a lot.
