I am feeling so confused... I have so many questions and my doctors are no help at all.. I am afraid there is something very wrong with me with all these symptoms. they appear to be peri symptoms but the doctors have gotten me almost convinced I am too young to be peri at 42. I see alot of posts with people at my age and even younger. But my body seems so foreign to me now.. I used to know it so well, this irregular period nonsense is sort of freaking me out a bit. It just seems like I am much too young to have my periods be irregular. Some of my other symptoms are more understandable.. Can anyone help?

Dear lkmlee
I just want to strangle some of these Doctors. It would appear I am in a 'strangling' mood as I seem to want to 'strangle' a lot of people lately....can we spell 'rage?' and 'frustration?' wink.gif

Menopause does NOT have an age limit......there are women as young as being in thier 20's that have gone through menopause. Albiet this is a rather young age to enter into this phase, it has been documented.
Demand that your Doctor do a blood test and to have these blood tests done during different times in your now irregular cycles. Tell them that you require an FSH level to prove that....according to them you are NOT in menoapuse...or Peri as the case may be. This just enrages me!! Did they just look at you and shrug you off? How dare they?!?!?!

At the top of this page are the Power Surge Quick Links.......read through the 34 signs of Menopause.....educate yourself so that when you go back to these clearly inept Doctors....you will go back with the knowledge to fight back!!

It is such a hard time when we know for sure that something is changing ibn our bodies and in our mental state as well. Dr.'s are clinical...if they can't see it on a CT, MRI, ultrasound or in our blood, then everything is fine. We all know by now that it is hogwash and that it is very likely if nothing clinical can be found at 42 and you are having symptoms, you can chalk it up to Peri. Problem is where to find the support. How to find a Dr. that will work with you. I think the best results I have had was not going in asking what is then wrong, but laying out the symptoms and telling them it must be peri. and asking for help. My biggest supporter is my Homeopat. He is also a MD but works alternate whenever possible. Track your symptoms with you cycle, gfet a top to bottem physical to overrule any underlying disorders. You are by now way too young for peri. We just happen to know it a long time before our Dr.'s are able to recognise it, ie hormone tests.
You are not crazy, you are not alone. Read around the board as much as possible and you will feel alot better knowing that 90% are told we are crazy and not in peri.
